This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.
As a UX Technical Designer on the Integrated Ground Systems (IGS) team, you will design the mission critical software that monitors and controls our launch vehicles and ground support systems. As part of a passionate, and highly collaborative team, you will shape the user experience for the mission operators and engineers who make spaceflight possible.
Our team operates on the core belief: Human-Centered Design is essential to building safe, reliable, and efficient systems. This is a unique opportunity to see your work have a tangible impact on the future of spaceflight.
Responsibilities- Frame the Problem, Not Just the Solution: Don't just execute on feature requests. You own the critical "discovery" phase, using research, data, and deep collaboration to define the right problems to solve on behalf of the mission.
- Own the End-to-End Design Process: Move from ambiguity to clarity by designing the complete user experience. You will drive the process from initial user flows and wireframes to deliver pixel-perfect visual designs and interactive prototypes in Figma.
- Be the Voice of the User: Embody a deep sense of empathy for our operators. You will engage them directly to understand their world, workflows, and pain points, translating that insight into artifacts including user journeys, scenarios, and task analyses to serve as the team's guide.
- Build a Stronger Foundation: A primary mission of this role is to improve the quality, consistency, and accessibility of our software. A key part of this effort is actively working to resolve design debt, strengthen and improve our design system and create scalable foundation for future work.
- Partner with Engineering: Act as a dedicated design partner for developers. You will be responsible for translating user needs into clear design specifications, understanding technical constraints, and ensuring the final product is implemented with exceptional attention to detail.
- Cultivate a Culture of Humility: Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. You will know how to give and receive sharp, kind feedback to make the entire team better.

- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate the rationale behind your design decisions.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
