Full Job Description
Job Overview:
This position is to monitor consumptions and issues with the site utility infrastructure and fire protection systems, identify opportunities for improvements and lead projects to improve reliability, efficiency and to stay ahead of utility consumption changeses
- Participate in the design, and monitor the construction, of Fire Protection and Utility systems on campus
- System responsibilities include HVAC, Building Controls, Cooling Towers/Chillers, Boilers, Compressed Air Generation, Fire Protection, weld water, Natural Gas, Water/Sewer
- Maintain operation of all utilities equipment and implement a maintenance program for the new facility and integrate maintenance program for existing facility
- Assist in the development and implementation preventive and predictive maintenance program, including internal manpower and external vendors for all building utility systems
- Coordinate equipment inspections and testing of equipment as part of an overall preventive maintenance program
- Contribute to the reliability program for utilities equipment by participating in FMEA and Root Cause Analysis
- Team member will be responsible for contributing to the scope of project requirements including technical documents, design, review and approvals, financial management and project management through completion in coordination with the procurement department
- Responsible for coordinating all aspects of projects with all stake holders including production, maintenance and all facilities management team members
- During initial plant start-up:
- Maintain the building controls system in existing facility and integrate new buildings into existing system
- Monitor utility costs and make recommendations for improvements to reduce overall costs
- Report utility consumptions per area and equipment type according to installed monitoring devices
- Support electrical engineering duties as requested
- Assist in managing the energy center equipment to consistently deliver necessary utilities to the campus at all times as needed by utilizing good operational procedures and equipment life cycle management
- Participate in trouble shooting for any utility issues and implementing countermeasures for corrections
- Responsible to contribute to the continuous improvement of the site utilities infrastructure and operation
Financial Responsibilities
- Project financial management to facilitate projects with approved budgets.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years' experience in engineering, facilities engineering, and/or maintenance management
- Bachelors' degree in an engineering discipline
Additional Skills:
Skilled in developing, writing, reviewing, and executing facility capital initiatives
Candidate must possess excellent communication skills to provide insight and consultation across operational and project teams
Facilities and project management
Knowledge of building code requirements, NFPA and OSHA life safety
Experience contributing to insurance coverage requirements
Experience with managing medium scale utility projects
Experience in managing fire protection testing and maintenance activities
