Position Summary...
As a Staff Software Engineer on the Information Security Reliability Engineering & Operational Excellence team, you will lead the design and development of scalable, resilient platforms that improve the reliability and operational maturity of Walmart's security services. You will build automation, observability, and AI-enabled solutions that reduce operational toil, accelerate incident response, and enhance system availability. Working across security, platform, and infrastructure engineering teams, you will drive technical excellence, influence architecture, mentor engineers, and implement Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices to deliver secure, highly available enterprise platforms.

What you'll do...

What you'll bring:
  • 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering, or DevOps.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or C#, with experience building scalable distributed systems.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or GCP), Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Hands-on experience implementing observability solutions using tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
  • Experience designing highly available, resilient systems and driving incident management, root cause analysis, and operational excellence.
  • Experience building automation and AI-enabled engineering workflows to improve reliability and reduce operational toil.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
