Position Summary...What you'll do...As a
Software Engineer III you will be a key contributor to building and evolving highly scalable, data-driven systems that enable business outcomes and improve customer and associate experiences.
What You'll Do:- Lead and guide small teams of engineers, including offshore associates, by providing documentation, direction, and technical mentorship.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions with a focus on ROI and long-term sustainability.
- Write, test, and deploy high-quality code across various platforms and technologies.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
- Collaborate with product, project management, UX, and business teams during the discovery and design phases.
- Support business operations by addressing user concerns, researching solutions, and advising on system enhancements.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations to ensure operational support and system reliability.
- Apply up-to-date software engineering practices to improve development processes and outcomes.
- Build relationships with stakeholders to support the implementation of business solutions.
- Ensure compliance with Walmart's policies, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
What You'll Bring:- Proficiency in system architecture and design, especially in cloud environments (Azure, GCP).
- Experience working in Agile environments and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously.
- Knowledge of scalable, distributed systems and fault-tolerant design.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, Cassandra, Solar, Elastic Search, SQL.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, Angular, React, Spark, and tools like Maven, Git, Jenkins.

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
