Full Job Description
This position reports to: Country Trade Compliance Manager (CTCM) __ Your role and responsibilities This role is responsible for providing operational support to the Country Trade Compliance team in managing the US Trade Compliance Program. Key responsibilities include maintaining the US Trade portal and Inside+ page, developing and managing tracking tools, processing HR Export Control Review forms, clearing business partner blocks and auditing block releases by the businesses, issuing customs broker POAs annually, managing Customs notices and demands, and tracking compliance mitigation actions and project milestones. This role acts as the operational hub for the US CTCO team, ensuring visibility and timely reporting across all Country trade compliance activities.

The work model for the role is: Remote

This role is contributing to the Trade Compliance team in the US. Main Accountabilities:
  • Support the CTCO team with developing and maintaining a training matrix for the trade compliance and product classification programs, as well as a shareable training tracker to be used by the CTCO Team, LTCOs and PCEs.

  • With the support of the CTCO team, manage all Trade portals and drives including the U.S. Trade SharePoint Portal; Organize, index files, create folders and protected areas, and provide or remove access to the portals as needed. Support with the development and maintenance of the internal US Trade Compliance Inside ABB page.

  • Responsible for reviewing and processing HR Export Control Review forms on a weekly basis. Responsible for reviewing and releasing Business Partner blocks in AMSAP, Torque, BUS, S4/HANA and CFIN.

  • Responsible for auditing SPL & Embargo block release audit texts from GTS approved users monthly. Responsible for ensuring the Point of Contacts file shared with customs brokers is updated monthly.

  • Supporting the Senior Leader, Trade Compliance Program, with issuing annual Broker POAs, sending them to the brokers and storing them in a country repository. Updating the Broker Matrix as needed. Supporting the Senior Leader, Trade Compliance Program with tracking Trade Review gap mitigation actions to ensure gaps get closed by the LTCOs. Report progress to CTCO for CTCC meetings, BATM escalations and CHO awareness. Supporting the Senior Leader, US Trade Compliance Strategic Projects with tracking milestones for all trade projects and ensuring tasks can be completed. Develop and maintain the Country’s Trade Compliance Projects Tracker updated so the CTCO can share regular updates.

  • Responsible for tracking Customs Notices and Demands weekly, notify affected LTCOs, and track timely responses to CBP.

  • Responsible for tracking the completion of the Global Trade Risk Assessment mitigation actions, and sending monthly reports to the CTCO and Senior Leader, Trade Compliance Program on the overall country progress so he can send reminders to the LTCOs and their line managers. Responsible to enhance and maintain the US Country Trade Footprint updated.

  • Responsible for developing, maintaining and managing the Risk Review (RR) tracker for the CTCO. With support from LTCOs, create a list of Tender Responsibles by LDIV, and develop a Risk Review SOP template that LTCO’s can use to ensure proper due diligence is performed. Create a country repository for Risk Reviews where CTCO has access to all RRs and related documentation. Responsible for developing and maintaining a CTCO Team tracking tool to provide visibility on the team’s tasks and due dates.

Qualifications for the role
  • Degree in Business Administration, or a Paralegal Certification from an accredited College, or minimum of 10 years of experience in International Trade Compliance experience.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and/or minimum 5 years with project management experience.

  • Experience working with international trade compliance projects.

  • Experience in process improvement and implementation is a plus.

  • Super-user for Microsoft’s Platform tools and systems. Working knowledge of ERP systems, SAP/GTS preferred.

  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Must Have Skills
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs, BIS, EAR, OFAC, and the ITAR (export, import, and sanctions).

  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships at the global and country level and across all functions of the enterprise, communicating vertically and horizontally throughout the organization.

  • Ability to manage assignments with limited or no direct supervision.

  • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively within many levels of the company as well as with individuals outside the company.

  • Ability to work remotely within a Country team in a complex and decentralized organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $119,000 and $190,400 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
