Underwriting Operations Manager
$90,002 - $115,203 minimum starting pay
Job Level 6 Manager

Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. What You Will Be Doing:
Manage Product Owners, Business Systems Analysts, and Billing Operations staff, including Billing Supervisor and Billing Specialists, to support underwriting processes and reporting. Perform personnel management responsibilities for supervised employees, including performance management, coaching, and development. Oversee the development and maintenance of core Underwriting and Billing procedures, operational workflows, system enhancements, and reporting functions. Coordinate cross-functional efforts to support strategic initiatives, drive process improvements, and meet organizational objectives.

ul>Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and organizational skills for presentations.
ul>Monitors and reviews overall operations underwriting activities around innovation, business operations, digital and data strategies and their implementation.
ul>Experience in data analytics to work with the Enterprise Data team.
ul>Ability to quickly analyze, comprehend, and interpret data, reports, and laws.
ul>Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
ul>Ability to develop and manage projects related to underwriting, which will lead to implementation of new processes and procedures.
ul>Ability to organize and provide leadership to Home Office Underwriting units to achieve departmental objectives.
ul>Ability to accept guidance, follow instructions and work in a harmonious manner with others in various departments to accomplish departmental objectives.
ul>Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance to ensure minimal disruption to schedules, deadlines and availability to department personnel requiring expertise or guidance.
ul>Thorough knowledge of programming languages, computer design, and operation procedures.
ul>A minimum of three years management experience is preferred.
ul>Ability to perform essential functions of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
