As a K&R Underwriter you will be required to evaluate new and renewal policy applications and supporting documentation to classify and assess risks, communicate and build relationships with brokers and our Crisis Management Response firm, and create and maintain underwriting documentation according to grants of authority and departmental underwriting guidelines. Kidnap is part of the Hartford Professional team.
What you'll be doingWhat will your essential responsibilities include?
Be a contributing member of a collaborative, profit driven underwriting team
- Learn and understand market trends and profit drivers to maximize results
- Maintain knowledge of current global affairs including regional and key country trends.
- Continually develop and leverage your market knowledge to win business
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and brokers
- Conduct research and analysis of new and renewal business
- Manage a book of business profitably within a collaborative environment
- Develop strategies and recommendations for your individual accounts
- Conduct client and broker meetings to obtain underwriting information and share the team's capabilities
- Use negotiating skills to create best possible outcomes for the K&R program
- Develop and maintain an understanding of Kidnap, Extortion, hijack, Wrongfule detention, hostage Crisis and other Security Risks globally
- Travel up to 15%.

The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD USD $71,000 - $138,200.
Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual's skills, experience and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues' pay.
