Qualifications

  • ARDMS certification in OB/GYN or AB is mandatory.
  • BLS certification needed.
  • Graduated from an accredited Sonography program.
  • Advanced computer skills including email and Microsoft Office proficiency, along with familiarity with Electronic Medical Record Systems, RIS, and PACS Systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to patients receiving ultrasound services according to departmental policies.
  • Adhere to ultrasound protocols for procedures unless directed otherwise by the Radiologist.
  • Manage care delivery and prioritize patient safety throughout the process.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images for medical interpretation.
  • Document patient history and pertinent details accurately.
  • Engage in clear communication with the attending Radiologist and verify provider orders.
  • Maintain exam room cleanliness post-procedure and adhere to infection control standards.

Full Job Description
Status: Full Tiem - Benefit Eligible

Schedule: Tuesday - Friday, 9:30am - 8pm

*Breast Experience required.

Essential Job functions:
  • Provides comprehensive care to patients requiring ultrasound services in an organized and systematic manner according to departmental policy and standards.
  • Follows appropriate protocol for ultrasound studies unless specified differently by the Radiologist.
  • Follows ultrasound protocols for biopsies and other Interventional procedures if required.
  • Assumes accountability for managing delivery of care and patient safety.
  • Produces quality diagnostic images for interpretation.
  • Obtains and documents, patient history and pertinent information.
  • Communicates with attending Radiologist and verifies providers orders.
  • Ensures exam room cleanliness after each procedure. Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care.
  • Prioritizes and organizes work assignments and adjusts priorities based on changing situations.
  • Prepares patient for procedures providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.
  • Ability to operate / modify equipment and technical factors as needed.
  • Ensures equipment is in acceptable condition by conducting routine quality control checks.
  • Follows department standards for reporting equipment malfunctions or problems.


General Job functions:
  • Demonstrates knowledge and compliance of safety, OSHA, and HIPPA regulations.
  • Other job duties as required.
  • Attends departmental meetings.


Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience required; outpatient and/or hospital setting preferred.
  • ARDMS certification in OB/GYN or AB is required.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Graduated from an accredited Sonography program.
  • The ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is required.
  • Advanced computer skills including email, Microsoft applications and ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System, RIS and PACS Systems.


Travel:
  • Ability to travel to satellite locations as needed
Pay Range: $42.12 - $52.69 Hourly
The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
