Job Summary

Responsible for developing new business and retention of treasury management business for an assigned portfolio, market segment (including specialty) and geographic territory. Duties include preparation and delivery of consultative sales calling to current and prospective clients to discuss their banking needs, analyzing client cash flows, and creating proposals to outline the appropriate Treasury Management products and services and assisting with the design and ensuring the proper installation of treasury management services. In addition is responsible for meeting annual sales targets by developing and executing a market strategy to retain and penetrate existing relationships and drive new revenue from prospects to the Bank. Assists in the negotiations of proposal letters, fee agreements, final contracts, and implementing new Treasury Management services. Works closely with Commercial Partners on their business development calling efforts and conducts training sessions to keep them abreast of product offerings and enhancements. Actively shares knowledge and experience with peers. Serves as subject matter expert providing guidance and support to less experienced team members.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing new business, expanding existing business and promoting all Treasury Management products and services; along with developing and implementing integrated communications strategies to support go-to-market initiatives.
  • Works closely with Commercial Partners on business development activities, execution and pull through and takes an active role in assisting assigned markets to meet their strategic goals. Serves as primary sales point of contact for cash-centric customer relationships.
  • Develop strong vertical and horizontal partnerships with key leaders within the organization to improve the commercial customer experience and maximize implementation conversion rates through a customer obsession mindset.
  • Negotiates components to include proposal letters, fee agreements and final contracts. Participates in an active calling program to seek out prospective customers
  • Facilitates excellent customer service, to include implementing new Treasury Management services, resolving issues, responding to questions, performing maintenance and leveraging appropriate bank partners.
  • Leverage data analytics - reporting to uncover mutually beneficial value for Synovus bank and customers.
  • Serves as subject-matter-expert resource by providing training to less experienced team members.
  • Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum Experience:

10 years Sales and/or commercial banking experience, of which four (4) years must include Treasury Management sales experience

Certifications:

CTP, optional not required

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Commercial banking experience including business development calling experience and Treasury Management sales experience.
  • Excellent Sales Skills for in person and telephone opportunities.
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial banking terminology, functions and regulations.
  • Advanced knowledge of product pricing and billing for commercial banking and treasury management services.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and analytical skills
  • Broad understanding and application of risk associated with TPS solutions: monitoring, guidance, and assisting credit teams.
  • Management of partnerships and regular communication with banking partners, peers, leaders.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
