At TBSM, we drive shareholder value by managing wholesale funding programs, maintaining a comprehensive and disciplined funds transfer pricing framework. We also develop strategies for the enterprise investment portfolio and capital positions to ensure TD can generate stable and predictable earnings while optimizing the balance sheet within our risk appetite.

Our department is made up of over 250 dynamic professionals who provide expertise in managing the bank's balance sheet to drive incremental value across all businesses within TD.

JOB DESCRIPTION

About The Program

If you hold a graduate degree, have a data-driven mind for finance and can't resist a good puzzle, we want you on our leadership track.

The Treasury Associate Program is twofold, beginning with comprehensive training delivered by both Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) subject matter experts, as well as external presenters, to provide you with a solid foundation of key TBSM risk concepts and practices.

The 2-year rotational program provides Associates with the opportunity to rotate across four distinct areas every six months to learn, grow and add lasting value. The program is designed to provide exposure to the fundamental areas of Treasury and each six-month rotation may be in the following potential areas*:

  • Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP): Support detailed ad-hoc analysis, portfolio deep dives, document workflow and develop conclusions or recommendations linked to improving risk management and transfer pricing methodologies.
  • Enterprise Capital Management (ECM): Support the core capital forecasting and planning mandate within ECM. This might include partnering with multiple stakeholders to inform conversations at management meetings regarding capital, as well as ad-hoc projects.
  • Funding: Learn about the funding programs of TD: various funding products, market dynamics and the execution process through supporting the launch of new programs into new markets, developing new dashboards, peer bank competitive analysis and helping to enhance deal execution process.
  • Liquidity: Develop a better understanding in Liquidity and Cash Management by supporting regular Liquidity logic upgrades and technology automation activities; support the identification, measurement, forecasting and monitoring of liquidity risks within the Canadian Retail Bank, Wholesale, and at an aggregate TD Bank Group level.

*Rotation opportunities are subject to change without notice to ensure they align with business priorities.

Here's what you can expect as our Associate:

Each rotation is likely to consist of a combination of project-based and reporting (attribution) work. As you progress through the program, you'll gain valuable experiences in strategic decision making and industry leading risk management and portfolio management practices, allowing a holistic view of balance sheet management by the end of the program.

Mentorship is a big part of this program. You will be supported by a robust team of colleagues, peers, advisors and Executive mentors to ensure your growth, development and success.

As a TD Associate, you'll also have access to programming, tools and a community of support for your pursuits and interests beyond the 9-to-5. This includes leadership talks, lunch and learns, self-development workshops, TD sponsored conferences, socials, team challenges, volunteer opportunities, career coaching and more.

Your dream career in Balance sheet management starts with TD:

The Treasury Associate Program develops leaders who specialize in Treasury and Balance Sheet Management at TD using sophisticated and complex hedging strategies and superior execution of financial derivatives.

We seek sharp minds who enjoy solving complex financial problems in a regulated industry. We want dynamic individuals who take initiative and are passionate about simplification and improving processes. Our ideal candidates have creative new perspectives, and the confidence to share them with senior management.
