Full Job Description
Overview: The Treasury Analyst supports the Credit Union's treasury function through cash management, liquidity monitoring, funding activities, collateral management, reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis. This position is responsible for assisting in the management of daily cash, liquidity needs, maintaining accurate records of treasury transactions, supporting wholesale funding activities, monitoring collateral positions, and ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and internal controls.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Cash Management

  • Monitor daily cash transactions and cash account balances.
  • Ensure sufficient funds are maintained in operational accounts, including Federal Reserve Bank and Federal Home Loan Bank accounts.
  • Prepare daily cash position reports and ending cash balances.
  • Make recommendations regarding the movement of funds as needed.
  • Create and submit wire transfers for approval, including all required supporting documentation.
  • Maintain account signature cards, authorized signer information, and contact records.
  • Research and resolve cash-related discrepancies and issues.


Funding and Liquidity Management

  • Maintain records of wholesale funding transactions.
  • Assist with brokered certificate of deposit maturities and early withdrawal requests.
  • Assist with funding-related wire activity, including brokered deposit transactions.
  • Monitor liquidity positions and prepare related reports.
  • Support liquidity management and funding activities as directed by management.


Collateral Management

  • Assist with the movement of collateral between custodians, the Federal Reserve Bank, and the Federal Home Loan Bank.
  • Maintain collateral records and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare reports monitoring collateral positions.
  • Assist with audit confirmations and requests related to pledged collateral.


Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly treasury reports.
  • Assist with the preparation of management and committee reporting.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis related to cash management, liquidity, funding, deposits, investments, and other treasury activities.
  • Analyze data, identify trends or exceptions, and provide recommendations as appropriate.
  • Assist with special projects and departmental initiatives.


Accounting and Reconciliations

  • Prepare journal entries related to treasury activities as necessary.
  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
  • Ensure transactions are accurately recorded and supported.
  • Identify, research, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.


Policy, Procedure, and Administrative Support

  • Draft, maintain, and update Treasury procedures.
  • Support internal and external audit activities.
  • Respond to issues and requests on behalf of the Treasury Department.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Two to four years of experience in treasury, finance, accounting, banking, or related financial services environment preferred.
  • Credit union or banking experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with Federal Reserve Bank and Federal Home Loan Bank operations preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong reporting and documentation skills.

The pay range for this position is between $62,800-$100,800 annually. Actual base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus, 401(k) with an 6% employer match per pay period.
