- Iowa Methodist Medical Center is a 370 adult bed ACS-verified Level I Trauma Center and Blank Children's Hospital is an 88 bed ACS-verified Level II Trauma Center
- 1700 admission annually
- Acute Care Surgery Model
- Surgery department consists of 5 Trauma/Critical Care Surgeons (growing to 6), 5 General Surgeons, 4 Colorectal Surgeons, and 1 Surgical Oncologist
- General Surgery Residency Program
- Ability to participate in clinical research, education, and outreach
- Only one location to cover with newer ED and Trauma rooms
