Responsibilities

  • Supervise hospital technician staff to ensure safe practices

Job Description:

Looking for a detail oriented, team player to join our Pharmacy Department

Full Time Inpatient/ Clinical Pharmacist position available shared between our Clarion and Belmond Locations

Pharmacy Hours Range: Monday- Friday 8:30am- 5:30pm, Saturday 9:00am- 12:00pm

Currently every 4th weekend Saturday rotation

Rotating on-call for the hospital

Duties focus on Sterile Compounding according to USP 797 and USP 800 regulations but also include, but not limited to, order verification, documenting interventions, participating in multidisciplinary rounds, updating policies and procedures, drug monitoring, providing staff and patient education, and supervising hospital technician staff.

Other duties include billing and ordering of pharmaceuticals, joining hospital committees, and Omnicell support.

Performs professional pharmaceutical work in dispensing of drugs and demonstrates proficiency in providing pharmaceutical services to persons of all ages, including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and the geriatric population.

Works collaboratively with the Inpatient staff and Pharmacy team to ensure patients' needs are met and the best service possible is provided.

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited college of Pharmacy with BS or higher in Pharmacy.

Current valid Iowa Pharmacy License

Hospital experience preferred

Will be required to work at all Iowa Specialty Hospital locations as needed.
