Role Overview

As Training Specialist, you will serve as a senior individual contributor responsible for designing, delivering, and improving training programs for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure data center operations and support teams. This role helps ensure field teams are prepared to execute safely, follow approved procedures, respond to abnormal conditions, and maintain reliable operations in mission-critical environments.

You will partner with training leadership, Data Center Operations, Engineering, Reliability, Site Deployment, Safety, Security, and technical SMEs to convert operating standards and field lessons into practical learning content. The role requires strong facilitation skills, documentation discipline, technical curiosity, and the ability to build trust with both learners and operational leaders.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, deliver, and continuously improve training content for data center technicians, engineers, supervisors, and operational support teams.


  • Support role-based training paths covering safety, access control, critical environment basics, maintenance execution, MOP/SOP/EOP expectations, incident response, and site readiness.


  • Facilitate instructor-led sessions, workshops, onboarding programs, refresher training, and train-the-trainer activities.


  • Partner with technical SMEs to validate course accuracy for electrical, mechanical, controls, fire/life safety, security, and operational workflows.


  • Create practical learning materials, including job aids, knowledge checks, field qualification guides, hands-on exercises, and scenario-based training.


  • Maintain training records, completion tracking, qualification evidence, and readiness reporting in approved systems of record.


  • Review incident learnings, audit findings, procedure updates, and field feedback to identify training improvements.


  • Support training readiness for new site launches, expansions, transitions, remediation projects, and major operational changes.


  • Coordinate training logistics, learner communications, attendance, materials, evaluations, and follow-up actions.


  • Measure training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, field observations, completion data, and stakeholder input.


  • Promote consistent training standards across sites while adapting delivery methods to local operational needs.


  • Mentor less experienced trainers, field SMEs, and site partners on facilitation quality and documentation expectations.


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 8+ years of experience in technical training, data center operations, facilities operations, maintenance, reliability, safety, workforce development, or a related field.


  • Experience developing and delivering training for technical, operational, industrial, utility, military, manufacturing, or mission-critical teams.


  • Working knowledge of data center facilities operations, maintenance practices, safety programs, procedures, and operational readiness.


  • Experience managing training records, learning content, qualification tracking, assessments, and stakeholder reporting.


  • Strong facilitation, business writing, learner engagement, and cross-functional coordination skills.


  • Bachelor's degree in education, operations, engineering, facilities management, organizational development, or equivalent practical experience.


Skills and Competencies

  • Strong instructional delivery with the ability to make technical topics clear, practical, and relevant.


  • Operational discipline in maintaining accurate training records, version control, and readiness tracking.


  • Ability to partner effectively with field teams, SMEs, managers, and learners across multiple sites.


  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills / Certifications

  • Experience with learning management systems, content authoring tools, training dashboards, or qualification tracking platforms.


  • Familiarity with BMS/EPMS, CMMS, DCIM, MOP/SOP/EOP governance, critical environment safety, and site operations practices.


  • ATD, CPTD, OSHA, NFPA, Six Sigma, PMP, CMRP, or related technical training certification.


  • Experience supporting hyperscale data centers, colocation facilities, utilities, critical manufacturing, military, or high-availability operations.


  • Experience creating field-based learning programs, simulations, hands-on labs, or scenario-based assessments.


Physical Demands / Work Environment

This role operates in office, remote collaboration, classroom, training lab, and active data center environments. The position may require travel to sites and training locations. Site visits may involve walking large facilities, standing for extended periods, using stairs, and following all safety, PPE, security, and access-control requirements.

Qualifications

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $98,200 to $209,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
