Position Overview

The Training Specialist focuses on delivering high-impact customer training through multiple modalities, including video, eLearning, virtual instructor-led training (VILT), and in-person instruction (ILT). Leverages Adult Learning Principles to transform SME-provided content into engaging, retention-focused learning experiences.

In addition to facilitation support, this role requires expert-level content creation, particularly in video production/editing and the design of web-based training.

Understands the business channels across Hunter Douglas and applies training solutions that support measurable performance outcomes.

What you'll do
  • Conduct needs analyses and partner with stakeholders to design training solutions aligned with Field Service and installer-focused business objectives.
  • Develop high-quality training content, including instructional videos, eLearning modules, job aids, and quick-reference guides, using industry-standard tools and creative techniques.
  • Facilitate training in a variety of formats (ILT, VILT, video-based learning, eLearning), ensuring learners can apply concepts effectively.
  • Identify and track key metrics to evaluate learning effectiveness; use data to continuously improve training content and delivery.
  • Stay current on training trends, technologies, and creative approaches to instructional media, and incorporate new methods into training strategies.
  • Represent Hunter Douglas professionally when working with internal teams, dealers, and installers.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Travel 25-35% as required to support training initiatives.

Who you are
  • High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Education, Training, or related fields preferred.
  • 2-4 years in the window fashions industry, installation, training, photography, or video production preferred.
  • 2+ years experience with in-person training delivery and facilitation.
  • Extensive public speaking experience and commitment to continuous learning. • Bilingual English/Spanish highly desired.
  • Expert proficiency in video production and editing, including scripting, shooting, and post-production.
  • Expert ability to design and build web-based training/eLearning content using modern authoring tools.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills across diverse environments (video, live classroom, virtual sessions).
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into accessible, engaging content.
  • Use of Microsoft 365 including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

Solid Knowledge of: (programs, software, etc.)
  • Training techniques, instructional design, and adult learning theory.
  • Technology platforms for content delivery (LMS, virtual platforms, media tools).
  • Grammar, writing, and editing for training content.
  • Project and time management, including coordinating multiple concurrent projects.
  • Collaborative problem-solving and maintaining effective work relationships.
  • Identify and disseminate trends in data through Excel analysis.
