Job Description

Position summary: Responsible for business development, financial success, and managing staff for the department in Washington DC and supporting traffic efforts throughout the metropolitan area.

Compensation for this position is $190,000-$210,000annually, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate strategic growth plan with office managers and practice leaders
  • Establish and grow market presence in area through marketing and business development
  • Manage financial budget for department and allocate resources accordingly
  • Lead and contribute to the production of proposals
  • Serve as a technical expertise resource to project managers and technical staff
  • Establish resources staffing needs for the section
  • Interview and hire staff for the section
  • Perform performance reviews for staff based on input from project managers on assigned teams
  • Coordinate with other traffic teams in Virginia and Maryland on marketing and project activities

Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program
  • Professional Engineer License or equivalent
  • 15+ years' experience in specialized discipline
  • Project management and business development experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Qualifications Preferred
  • Experience working with local clients at the county and state level
  • Supervisory experience
