Tooling Manager Location: Tillsonburg, ON

Your Role and ResponsibilitiesJob Purpose:The Tooling Manager is responsible for the supervision and coordination of the tooling department employees ensuring maintenance metrics are met to standard by performing or delegating required tasks.
Responsibilities:- Provide leadership to tool room employees
- Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed
- Ensure team members receive training to correctly perform job duties
- Advise Plant Manager on all important issues
- Ensure New Employee Orientation Program completed within department
- Ensure all employee vacation and time clock records accurate within the Plex system as required
- Maintain/repair/replace machines and equipment either electronically or mechanically to continue production
- Schedule, log completion of, and generate new requirements for preventative maintenance on a (weekly, monthly, yearly etc.) rotation as required
- Ensure preventative maintenance KPI meets and sustains a 100% completion rate
- Schedule and complete machine improvements as required
- Machine new tooling as required
- Ensure all Legal Employment Due Diligence compliance requirements are met
- Build/set up new machines/equipment as required
- Communicate with Quality, Assembly, Stamping, Management
- Interact with contractors, suppliers and salesmen
- Ensure shop supplies and spare parts are readily available, neat organized, and tracked
- Use requisition system to order components needed for general maintenance and special projects as required
- Observe and assist in the evaluation of employee performance to ensure compliance with standards
- Schedule and ensure completion of all maintenance work requests
- Responsible for work request KPI to be met to target
- Manage R&M budget to target
- Responsible to manage department to ensure adequate shift coverage for divisional operation requirements including off hours, breakdown situation, and weekends
- Responsible to have 24 hour emergency breakdown communication accessibility to plant manager
- Maintain confidentiality
- All other relevant duties
Key Requirements:- Grade 12, CAEC, or equivalent
- Recognized Tool and Die License
- 5+ years related experience in Automotive manufacturing
- 2+ years of related leadership experience
- Computer literacy - Moderate level of proficiency with standard email, spreadsheet and word-processing software (Outlook, Excel, Word), and Plex
