What You Will Do:

Pratt & Whitney's GTF MRO Engine Center (West Palm Beach, FL) is looking for an experienced Tooling Engineer (P2) to provide Engineering support to the operation's team during engine maintenance. As the engines are inducted into, and progress through the shop, the Powerplant Engineer will help maintain work scope, identify engineering risks that may impact schedule, and support the inspection team with changes in tech data. The person in this role will ensure a smooth Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) process, while working to meet external and internal customer expectations for quality, cost, and delivery timeline commitments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain operational work scopes per WPB MRO requirements in accordance with 14 CFR Part 145 using engine maintenance program (EMP), customer specific work scopes (SMI), "As-received" induction results, existing service bulletins and approved deviations.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries related to engine shop visits, providing timely and effective communication
    Evaluate and address in-process findings (IPFs), assessing their impact on scope, cost, and turnaround time
  • Identify high-cost, high-impact components; track serviceability trends and develop strategies to reduce removal rates
  • Comply with all government regulations, regulatory requirements, company policies, repair station procedures and work instructions including Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and International Trade Compliance requirements.
  • Utilize CORE (Continuous Operational Reliability & Excellence) methodologies to enhance operational performance


Qualifications You Must Have
  • Advanced degree and 6+ months of Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, or broad Aerospace or Aftermarket industry experience; OR Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate's degree and 4+ years of relevant industry experience; OR High School diploma or Military / Technical Training and 6+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience with tool or component design in CAD software such as NX and Teamcenter
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data, GD&T, blueprints and engine manuals


Qualifications We Prefer
  • Degree STEM field ideally in Mechanical, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license, FAA repairmen's certificate, or equivalent
  • Mechanical engineering knowledge and experience ideally within Aerospace or Aviation industry
  • Advanced knowledge and experience working with gas turbine engines particularly in an FAA Repair Station MRO environment involving the GTF family of engines
  • Experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining operations, including tooling application and measurement / inspection methods.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite programs, SAP ERP, Solumina MES, Teamcenter and Siemens NX or equivalent CAD/CAM programs
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/SixSigma, QCPC and RCCA)
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management, shop personnel and customers

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
