Job description
• Under minimal supervision, performs complete buildup of tool assemblies for Machine Shop, as per requirements
• Able to use Induction Heating machine for shrink fit holder assemblies
• Provide tool kit report, including offset data files and labels, using SPERONI STP 46 ESPERIA machine equipment
• Refresh and maintains tool kits and performs pre-setting of tool assemblies for CNC machines as per operation requirement
• Set-up, organize and stage tooling-kitting (per defined set-up sheet data) in tool carts, as required
• Assist machinist when needed, with resetting / setting new or existing tools
• Inspects and measures tools and related tool room equipment for defects, wear problems visually or using precision measuring tools, scrap and replace when necessary
• Route applicable tooling to cutter grind, orders replacement, or return to crib location as required
• Maintaining Tool Room based on 5S principles for easy locating of tools, parts and supplies, keeping equipment in proper working order, support PM as needed and keep required records
• Updates and maintains tooling records and inventory accuracy by coordinate orders with appropriate personnel
• Works with tool engineer and machinists identifying recurring and sporadic cutter problems
• Receive tooling and accessories and store in appropriate location
• To follow standard operating procedures and observe Company rules, regulations and practices intended for performance excellence
• Actively participate and promote continuous improvement of processes, methods and tooling to maintain/improve competitive position
• Participate and support cross training programs
• To work safely, adhering to Health and Safety policy as well as maintain a high level of 5S for a clean and safe work environment

Candidate skills & requirements
• Minimum 5 years Tool Setting experience in a manufacturing, preferably aerospace environment with knowledge of cutting tool geometry
• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or a relevant trade school program is required
• Strong fundamental skills in reading precision measuring instruments and the ability to use measuring tools, micrometers, vernier calipers, height gages, and shadowgraph equipment
• Able to read and understand basic blueprints for shop & Tool Room related tooling needs and follow verbal instructions
• Able to perform bench work, and handle small manual and power tools
• Must be able to lift, push, pull and move equipment and/or supplies up to 55 pounds
• To exhibit a commitment to quality, performance and high productivity in all aspects of every task or project performed
• Strong organizational & problem solving skills and familiarity with facets of Tool Room management
• Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, performance and versatility, to comply with the high standards of the Aerospace industry
• Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing guidelines, standard work, 5S principles
• Excellent communication skills; both oral and written.
• Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently; available to work shifts, with minimum supervision
• Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations is considered an asset
• MS Office experience
Rate: Starting at $40.21 per hour as per Collective Agreement
