Texas Instruments is looking Thinfilms, Implant, and Epi Automation Engineer with a passion for process and automation. This role offers the opportunity to revolutionize how our manufacturing team operates by developing and automating complex workflows for Qualifications, Material Dispositions, Process Releases, and other critical semiconductor manufacturing processes. You will leverage modern technologies and AI-driven development to drive improved efficiencies, yields, and quality in a high-volume 300mm wafer Fab. We are searching for a self-directed, highly motivated engineer to join our team.

Texas Instruments is seeking a Thinfilms, Implant, and Epi Automation Engineer who is experienced in developing software and automation solutions to enhance manufacturing quality and productivity. This role is critical to our digital transformation, bridging the gap between process engineering and advanced software development. The ideal candidate is someone who can not only understand complex semiconductor manufacturing processes but also possesses the technical expertise to build, deploy, and sustain automation tools and data pipelines. You will be building solutions that directly impact manufacturing quality and operations while helping transform how our team approaches automation through modern development techniques and AI-assisted coding.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop and automate manufacturing workflows Qualifications, Dispositions, Process Releases, and other Critical Process Steps.
  • Rapidly develop and deploy applications and automation solutions using AI code generation platforms (Claude, Copilot, Cursor, etc.) to accelerate development & implementation
  • Automate lot and equipment dispositions to support continuous production flow and minimize cycle time
  • Identify systematic problems in process or equipment and develop automated solutions to drive resolution
  • Work with project managers and internal customers to define requirements and develop solutions that meet manufacturing needs
  • Provide data solutions and pipelines that enhance manufacturing applications and decision-making
  • Document software systems, usage requirements, and troubleshooting guides for manufacturing teams
  • Deliver high quality automated solutions in a timely manner
  • Make applications and automation tools compatible with other TI sites and data systems
  • Automate repetitive tasks to drive increased efficiency
  • Mentor team members across the organizations on proper software development and management techniques


Qualifications

Minimum requirements:
  • Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or another related field
  • 5+ years of experience with full-stack development without co-development tools & experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience with AI agentic frameworks (such as Claude, Copilot, Cursor or similar AI co-development tools) for accelerating programming tasks


Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in semiconductor industry is preferred, added plus if directly related to Thinfilms, Implant, and/or Epitaxy
  • Experience with relational database management systems (Oracle, MSSQL, PostgresSQL) and SQL
  • Strong focus on gathering customer requirements and meeting customer needs
  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively across several different functions
  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Good listener and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Passion for the job and willingness to dig in and learn from those around you
