Full Job Description
Job Description

Test is a crucial time in an IC development process; if you find a bug or an issue, it is a good time to fix it, but every additional second of testing we do, is additional cost when you scale a device into production. So, test engineers must identify the critical points of the device where testing is most necessary and the points where we may want to take some risk. It is a precise balance, that has the potential to save our businesses millions of dollars!

We are looking for a Test Engineer to develop, validate, and support production test solutions for battery charger ICs, with the responsibility for defining critical test coverage, balancing test time and cost, and ensuring robust product quality at scale. In this role, you will build and debug automated test programs on ATE platforms, design and review test hardware, and perform hands-on lab debugging and correlation. You will work closely with cross functional teams to support silicon bring-up, troubleshoot device and test issues, improve yield, and enable a smooth transition into high-volume manufacturing.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 2 years of relevant experience

Preferred qualifications:
  • ATE experience on ETS364 and ETS800 platforms
  • Ability to design and debug load boards/probe cards, including component selection, schematic reviews, signal integrity and power integrity considerations
  • Strong technical knowledge of electronic devices and circuits, and analog test techniques
  • Data analysis skills using Spotfire, Mbayse or equivalent tool based on STDF
  • Strong bench debug skills using lab equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, waveform generator, electronic loads)
  • Experience developing qualification and characterization test programs
  • Experience with yield improvement, test time reduction, and cost-of-test optimization
  • Strong understanding of the IC product development process, from concept to volume production
  • Hands-on experience with mixed-signal or analog test methods (DC parametrics, AC measurements, timing, leakage, gain/offset, noise, PSRR, etc.)
  • Experience developing and debugging automated test programs on TI roadmap testers though ETS800 experience is preferred and a major differentiator
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor device fundamentals (CMOS operation, BJTs, MOSFETs, bandgaps, references, amplifiers, and comparators)
  • Experience testing power or power-management ICs (buck/boost converters, LDOs, battery chargers and controllers, protection devices, gate drivers)
  • Proficiency in at least one test programming language or environment such as C/C++, Python, or vendor-specific test languages
  • Experience with revision control tools such as Subversion, Git, BitBucket is a big plus
  • Solid understanding of measurement accuracy topics such as gain and offset error, settling and timing, calibration and correlation, and Kelvin measurements
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis for test data such as limit setting, guard-banding, GRR and Bench-to-ATE correlation
  • Strong documentation and communication skills for test plans, release notes, and production hand-off
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
