We have an exciting opportunity for a
Thermal Systems Engineer to join our ESSCA contract team at
NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. If selected you will: - Working independently and with an integrated, collaborative team, your responsibilities would include:
- Assisting with the Thermal team's implementation of Spacecraft Certification Plans.
- Coordinating reviews of Design Requirements Documents and other program documentation including working with Change Management for upcoming reviews, assigning reviewers, and gathering comments.
- Assisting with creation of Jira tickets, assets, and Confluence pages to support the Certification documentation.
- Assisting with tracking program concerns/risks, product assurance actions, and hazards.
- Assisting with tracking tasks for the Thermal team
- Creating Jira task tickets by direction of the Systems Engineering and Integration team
- Coordinating with discipline experts and leads on the status of tasks and ensure tickets are kept up to date.
- Assisting with Thermal team onboarding
- Fulfilling onboarding ticket tasks as required, such as updating rosters and assisting with administration and access requests.
- Attending weekly meetings and other meetings as required
- Performing additional tasks as required by Thermal design leads and program management.
- Supporting technical reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company guidelines.
- Staying updated with latest advancements, emerging technologies, and industry trends.
- Working across organizational boundaries and engineering disciplines to facilitate and execute systems engineering tasks and resolve systems integration issues.
- Sustaining an organized work environment that promotes safety, efficiency, and productivity.

- A degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited institution is required. Degrees in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering are highly desired. Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of related and progressive engineering experience.
Required skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a Systems Engineering Integration and Test role for aerospace programs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to anticipate challenges and propose effective solutions.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
- Technical writing and presentation capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of industry regulations, engineering principles, standards, and safety practices related to aerospace thermal hardware and analysis.
- Experience in design, analyses, and integration of active and/or passive thermal systems in aerospace or similar industry.
