Job Summary

The Therapeutic Area Analytics & Insights Manager - Solid Tumor is a strategic advisor to key stakeholders and an integral contributor to Genentech’s Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs (CMG) planning efforts. This individual supports the delivery of actionable insights and strategic recommendations to inform timely and critical business decisions across therapeutic areas, ecosystems, and/or business domains. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs, conducting targeted analyses to uncover tailored insights, and synthesizing findings into strategic options aligned with organizational goals. Work will guide decisions that affect in-line, pipeline, and/or business development assets. As an Individual Contributor, this individual is responsible for providing strategic recommendations with significant guidance / supervision, leveraging their capabilities.

The Manager works flexibly within a matrix structure, sensing business priorities and reprioritizing work to meet organizational objectives responsible for delivering high-impact, data-driven insights that address key business challenges and support Genentech’s strategic objectives. The Manager plays a key role in integrating analytical products into workflows and enhancing organizational efficiency through best practices and automation.

Key Responsibilities

● Perform custom analyses by applying appropriate analytic techniques to address business challenges.

● Take an enterprise mindset, linking individual responsibilities with broader organization; focus on outcomes that provide most business and patient value.

● Contribute to continuous organizational improvement by sharing best practices, identifying opportunities for automation, and enhancing the efficiency and impact of analytic workflows.

● Play an active role in the adoption of analytical products by staying up to date on the product roadmap, participating in training, user testing (as needed), and providing constructive feedback to ensure products are integrated into workflows. Embed and integrate products into workflows and foster Data, Analytics, and AI's product-first culture.

● Actively contribute to the community of practice by sharing knowledge, participating in discussions, and supporting peers to enhance collective expertise and drive continuous improvement.

● Balances individual, stakeholder, and department priorities to manage and shape own workload

● Build proficiency in tailoring communication to specific audiences, communicating and influencing stakeholders to secure buy-in

● Demonstrates the ability to independently handle project tasks, and proactively seeks managerial guidance as needed. Proactively identifies risks and seeks manager input to drive positive project outcomes.

This role will primarily support launch readiness & execution efforts for Giredestrant in hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, with a focus on primary insights & revenue forecasting capabilities.

Primary Market Research

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative market research with patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem to assess and improve the patient experience

  • Expertise in designing and fielding qualitative and quantitative primary market research plans.

  • Experience synthesizing concise summaries focused on the key insights that inform business decisions.

  • Proficiency in understanding market landscape and surfacing insights across multiple primary data sources.

Forecasting

  • Lead long term patient-based revenue forecasting for indications associated with Giredestrant.

  • Collaborate with other forecasters supporting Giredestrant and the Solid Tumor portfolio to enable consistency and holistic understanding of the business.

  • Conduct scenario planning, sensitivity testing, and uncertainty analyses to inform strategic decisions across commercial planning, portfolio prioritization, and lifecycle management.

  • Translate complex market dynamics into robust forecast assumptions and modeling frameworks.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Influence

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to understand evolving business needs and translate them into analytical questions and modeling approaches.

  • Develop clear strategic recommendations by synthesizing insights across analytics, forecasting outputs, competitive dynamics, and market trends.

  • Effectively communicate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences, influencing key stakeholders and enabling data-driven decision making.

● Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Genentech activities.    

Who You Are

Minimum Candidate Qualifications & Experience

● 3 years of relevant work experience (or equivalent with advanced education)

● Bachelor's Degree.

● Experience synthesizing concise summaries focused on the key insights that inform business decisions.

● Comfortable dealing with uncertainty in a highly-matrixed organization.

● Strong results orientation and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Desired Candidate Qualifications & Experience

● Experience with conducting primary insights projects (e.g. market research with various external stakeholder audiences) and/or revenue forecasting & patient-based market modeling
● Experience in the Breast Cancer or Oncology therapeutic area.

● Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Computer or Physical Sciences or related field.

● Proficiency in understanding market landscape and surfacing insights across multiple primary data sources.

Location

●This position is based in South San Francisco, CA and relocation benefits are not available.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $131,300.00 - $243,900.00 USD Annual.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
