  • Manage overdue sourcing assignments effectively.
  • Recommend updates to material master settings for purchased items.

Full Job Description
The Sourcing Leader is responsible for the daily sourcing activities in a manufacturing or distribution center. The Sourcing Leader directs Sourcing Specialists, ensuring compliance with sourcing procedures and ensuring that all transactions are made in accordance with agreed terms and conditions. This Sourcing Leader reports to the Supply Chain Manager for their assigned location.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Execute and own the sourcing plan for purchased items in accordance with the assigned sourcing groups.
  • Participate in planning reviews and alignment of supply with planning and production teams.
  • Enforce and monitor sourcing procedures.
  • Set action plans for improving lead time, cost reduction and on time delivery.
  • Review and maintain open sourcing assignments from initial requirement through source-list and contract generation.
  • Manage past-due sourcing assignments.
  • Review and make material master setting recommendations for buy items.
  • Review and control non-BOM sourcing events to ensure correct approvals and to track actual expenditure against plan.
  • Report sourcing statistics to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Participate in regular financial and inventory reviews with the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Ensure that the center adheres to SLB approved supplier agreements and contracts.
  • Support purchasing function in resolution of invoice discrepancies.
  • Implement continuous improvement activities within the Supply Chain department.
  • Deliver a top performing workforce.
  • Implement actions to continuously reduce wasted time, money and resources.
  • Comply with SLB and local procedures applicable to the job function.
  • All other duties as directed by their manager.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or supply chain preferred, and a minimum of four (4) years' experience in a purchasing or sourcing leadership role.
  • Demonstrated commitment to making and communicating a culture of positive change throughout the supply chain organization.
  • Exhibit problem solving skills.
  • Continuous process improvement mindset, including experience with Lean / Six Sigma.
  • Experience in leading teams in supply chain activities.
  • Experience sourcing electrical equipment, mechanical systems, fabricated assemblies, packaged equipment, or modular infrastructure components.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP Systems (E.g. SAP).
