This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.

This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin’s vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth. Blue Origin is self-funding rapid development of multiple in-space flight systems – over a range of sizes, propellant types, and technical challenge.

This position resides within the Avionics & Control Products (ACP) organization, part of the Engine Business Unit.  As part of the ACP Test Equipment and Manufacturing Automation team, you will design and deliver avionics ground and test systems supporting engineering development and production. The test systems will provide an environment to integrate the electronics and software for system development, verification, and validation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assemble electrical and mechanical systems using engineering drawings
  • Build, test and rework cable and harness assemblies
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration on test systems following engineering work instructions.
  • Review, execute and help improve various test procedures and processes
  • Provide input on how to streamline test procedures as well as incorporate process improvement techniques into the manufacturing testing processes and procedures
  • Uphold 5S principles to keep the team’s test lab clean and organized
  • Ensure common lab equipment remains within calibration and customers follow general lab best practices to work in an ESD safe environment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in electronic test systems troubleshooting, repair, and operation
  • Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience
  • Strong ability to interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawings and schematics
  • Strong ability to read and understand technical manuals/detailed work instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to work with electronic test instruments, systems and software
  • Proficient level knowledge of 5S, ESD, FOD and Tool Control best practices
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Windchill
  • High attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years’ experience in the aerospace industry, aerospace maintenance or aerospace engineering.
  • 3+ years’ experience supporting manufacturing test systems for space grade avionics.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Vizio, Jira Products (ITS & Confluence) and Windchill


Base Pay Range for:

WA applicants is $36.60 - $51.23

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing, vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
