SETA Test and Evaluation Engineer 6 CAML Project Office

The SETA Test and Evaluation (T&E) Engineer will serve as the lead T&E subject-matter expert for the Common Autonomous Multi-Domain Launcher (CAML) Project Office. The position provides technical leadership, independent engineering judgment, and quality assurance across the full acquisition life cycle, including requirements verification, test planning, resourcing, execution, analysis, reporting, and readiness assessments.

The engineer will establish and lead the program’s T&E strategy and processes; develop test plans, requirements, procedures, schedules, and technical reports; and plan and execute CONUS and OCONUS flight-test events for all CAML munition types. The position integrates government, developer, range, and test-organization activities; translates senior-leadership requirements into executable test programs; and delivers executive briefings addressing progress, results, readiness, risks, deficiencies, and recommendations.

Responsibilities include independently developing and executing test scripts and procedures; compiling, documenting, and running automated and regression tests; validating that system capabilities satisfy business and technical requirements; developing and maintaining test-control databases; managing test data and ensuring its integrity and currency; tracking defects through resolution; and communicating test plans, issues, and results to analysts, developers, programmers, government stakeholders, and leadership.

The engineer will provide quality assurance for system changes and software releases, support release-management activities for changes to the baseline IT infrastructure, and ensure compliance with established processes throughout the project lifecycle. The position will document existing processes, recommend improvements, update process documentation, and communicate process changes to affected stakeholders. The engineer will also support training and publications teams by providing accurate technical content informed by system requirements, test results, and verified system performance.

The successful candidate will independently perform all assigned functional duties, resolve complex technical and programmatic challenges, establish effective T&E processes within a newly formed project office, and produce defensible assessments that support acquisition decisions, system readiness, and future releases. This senior position may oversee the work of less senior personnel and may be responsible for the performance of all staff assigned to a specific task or project. The position requires frequent application of technical standards, principles, and theories and supports high-visibility or mission-critical aspects of the CAML program.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, mathematics, or a related technical discipline.

• A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline plus 8 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for the master’s degree.

• Twelve years of relevant work experience may be substituted for the master’s degree.

• More than 10 years of relevant professional experience, including progressively responsible experience in test and evaluation, systems engineering, software quality assurance, or a related technical field.

• Demonstrated ability to independently perform functional duties supporting high-visibility or mission-critical programs.

• Experience developing and executing system, software, operational, or flight-test plans and procedures.

• Experience with requirements verification, defect tracking, regression testing, test data management, and technical reporting.

• Experience coordinating complex test events involving government, industry, range, and test-organization stakeholders.

• Strong written, verbal, briefing, organizational, and analytical skills.

• Ability to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET security clearance and travel CONUS and OCONUS as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience serving as a lead or senior T&E engineer supporting a Department of War or Department of Defense acquisition program.

• Experience supporting autonomous systems, launch systems, munitions, aviation systems, robotics, or multi-domain defense systems.

• Experience planning and executing CONUS and OCONUS flight-test events.

• Knowledge of DoD acquisition, systems engineering, test and evaluation, and requirements management processes.

• Experience establishing T&E processes, governance, and reporting within a newly formed program office.

• Experience developing executive-level briefings on test results, readiness, risk, deficiencies, and acquisition recommendations.

• Experience developing automated test scripts, test-control databases, regression testing processes, or release-management procedures.

• Experience leading, mentoring, or overseeing junior engineers, analysts, testers, or other technical personnel.
