Technology Manager (Permanent)

Expected Salary: $88,641 to $116,341
To determine final salary, Babcock considers a variety of factors including the successful Candidate's skills and experience and internal equity. The final base salary offer is at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

Description

In this role, you will:
• Be an integral member of both the Canadian Engineering and Technology Management team and Babcock's Global Technology Team.
• Contribute to the Global Technology Strategy by continually researching technology trends related to Babcock's business operations, identifying topics for deeper research and acting as a representative of Canadian business operations in the global strategy development.
• Develop relationships with Small-to-Medium Businesses and communities across geographies to support global interactions with selected SMB partners in support of the strategy.
• Develop business cases, often based around Industrial Technological Benefits (ITB) policy objectives, with cross functional teams drawn from within the Canadian business and across other elements of Babcock including the UK, Australia France and South Africa.
• Contribute to technical analysis and development, vendor selection, implementation, and prototype creation. Manage implementation of the concept through product development methodologies.
• Technology Program and Project Management: manage the delivery of assigned technology projects directly and in a program of work including satisfying project management governance and financial delegations. This may involve classical waterfall schedule management but more often will employ an agile approach.
• Stakeholder Management: Operate as a strategic partner and regularly meet with functional leaders in company and stakeholders to discuss potential improvement and innovation within a business.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate brings:
• Bachelor's Degree of Business Management or Bachelor's Degree of Engineering
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is an asset.
• 10 years of progressive management experience including demonstrated communication skills with executive level stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of the technology landscape in the primary markets that Babcock operates. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated knowledge and experience in all four sectors (Marine, Aviation, Land, Nuclear) but candidates with deeper expertise in a subset will be considered.
• A minimum of 5 years demonstrated project management experience in an R&D or engineering focussed applications.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional matrixed team structures, including across dispersed locations and time zones.
• Working knowledge of the Canadian ITB Program, the Defence Industrial Strategy and the Canadian Small-Medium-Business (SMB) ecosystem is an asset.
• You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
