Description

Babcock is looking to expand its Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) AW169 maintenance functions. We are currently recruiting for a Crew Chief (AME) to be based in Kamloops, British Columbia. The AME Crew Chief is responsible to the Chief Engineer for the completion of the maintenance and repair tasks which are assigned to them. All while ensuring compliance with Babcock Canada's MPM and the Canadian Aviation regulations.

In this role, you will:

Supervise and manage a crew of AME's and apprentices.
Create task cards and work orders, as well as order parts and consumables for forecasted maintenance in CAMP.
Monitor consumable levels of base and order required items in CAMP.
Maintain, adjust, modify, test, diagnose, and repair an aircraft's mechanical or structural systems.
Work with specialized aviation and power tools, computers, and diagnostic equipment.
Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks.
Keep timely and accurate records of the repair and maintenance activities that were conducted.
Carefully observe all procedures, rules and regulations when performing any task.
Be thoroughly familiar with and use safety procedures and safe work practices.
Use the appropriate PPE for tasks/jobs.
Maintain a clean and productive work area.
Conduct aircraft cleaning duties of interior and exterior (excluding medical biohazards).
Work efficiently alone and as part of a team.
Read, understand, and adhere to the Safety & Health Policy Statement, Company Occupational Health & Safety Manual, Company Policies and Procedures, and the MPM.
Utilize the company reporting system to report any hazard, incident, or accident.
Enter labour in the labour tracking system accurately for all tasks performed.
Perform work in accordance with all Transport Canada guidelines and the MPM.
Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate brings:

A valid Transport Canada M1 and/or M2 AME license.
Experience working on a rotary-wing asset, ideally on Leonardo Helicopters AW-Family aircraft, in particular, the AW169.
Demonstrated experience working on CAMP or other similar maintenance programs.
Good organizational skills.
Experience leading a Crew
Proficiency in English, written and spoken.
The physical ability to sit or crouch for extended periods.
The physical ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods.
The physical dexterity to allow working in confined spaces.
The ability and willingness to undertake shift work.
Comfortability working at height.
Eligibility for an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
The right to work in Canada and/or have or can obtain a Canadian passport.
A valid driver's license.
