Reporting to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Applications, the Technology Designer serves as the bridge between business needs and technology execution. This role is responsible for translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and sustainable technology solutions while providing technical leadership throughout the solution lifecycle.

Working closely with business leaders, stakeholders, application teams, architects, data and analytics teams, and technology partners, the Technology Designer is accountable for shaping solution direction, guiding technology initiatives from concept through implementation, coordinating delivery activities, supporting governance processes, and driving continuous improvement across the technology landscape.

The successful candidate combines business acumen, solution design expertise, delivery leadership, and strong stakeholder engagement skills to align cross-functional teams, influence technical outcomes, and ensure technology investments deliver measurable business value.

What You'll Do:

  • Build strong relationships with business leaders, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to understand priorities, objectives, challenges, and opportunities, translating business needs into effective technology solutions and roadmaps
  • Translate business requirements into technical designs, solution architectures, workflows, integration strategies, and implementation plans
  • Design scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable technology solutions
  • Evaluate technologies, platforms, tools, and delivery approaches to recommend optimal solutions
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business and technology teams throughout the solution lifecycle
  • Lead solution design sessions, technical reviews, and stakeholder alignment activities
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, analytics, data, and support teams
  • Align priorities, dependencies, timelines, and technical decisions across stakeholders and initiatives
  • Support the delivery of projects, enhancements, and operational improvements
  • Design and oversee data integrations, APIs, automation opportunities, and digital solutions
  • Ensure architecture, security, privacy, and governance standards are incorporated into solution designs
  • Identify technical risks, constraints, and dependencies, and develop mitigation strategies
  • Drive continuous improvement and modernization across applications, platforms, and business processes
  • Assess emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, analytics, and automation, to identify opportunities that create business value
  • Develop proofs of concept, prototypes, and pilot solutions to validate business opportunities and technical approaches
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, standards, and design artifacts
  • Communicate technical concepts and recommendations to both technical and business audiences
  • Develop and manage technology work plans, ensuring activities are sequenced, resourced, and executed to achieve business outcomes
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to technical resources, ensuring development activities align with approved designs, priorities, and delivery objectives
  • Oversee technology initiatives from concept through implementation, ensuring readiness, stakeholder engagement, and business adoption


What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in solution design, application development, systems integration, technology consulting, enterprise applications, or related technical roles
  • Experience translating business requirements into technology solutions and implementation plans
  • Strong knowledge of application architecture, systems integration, data management, and modern technology platforms
  • Experience leading solution design activities across multiple stakeholders and functional teams
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to balance business and technical requirements
  • Experience assessing business processes and identifying technology-enabled improvement opportunities
  • Knowledge of governance, risk management, and technology best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with cloud platforms, APIs, automation, analytics platforms, or enterprise applications is an asset
  • Experience with artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, or digital transformation initiatives is an asset
