The Technology group’s mission is to drive Wellington’s innovation and operational edge to exceed the investment and service expectations of our clients and business partners worldwide. The teams are responsible for designing, building, testing, and supporting our robust technology suite. This group works in partnership with functions across the firm to solve complex business problems through technology. Wellington Management is seeking individuals to join the Technology function as a Technology Associate, where you will develop the foundation for a successful career in financial technology.
About the Role
As a Technology Associate, you will be considered for one of two career paths: Software Engineer or Technology Analyst. You will have the opportunity to share your role preference during the application process.
As a Software Engineer, you will:
Design, build, and enhance technology solutions, leveraging established implementation patterns, reusable components, and third-party or open-source capabilities where appropriate
Partner closely with business stakeholders, analysts, architects, and technology teams to understand strategic requirements and contribute to solution design
Evaluate and address impacts to applications, infrastructure, data, networking, storage, capacity, resiliency, and performance in collaboration with cross-functional technology teams
Determine impact to servers, network and storage capacity, and throughput in conjunction with infrastructure delivery teams
As a Technology Analyst, you will:
Engage with business users to assess needs, understand workflows, and propose solutions
Create functional specifications and user requirement documents that outline enhancements, defect fixes, and integrate with existing system architecture
Partner with development teams to build solutions and participate in testing efforts
Lead and support cross-functional projects, both large and small
Provide each of Wellington’s investment teams with the data, controls, and support they need to ensure that their investment intent is accurately reflected in accordance with client regulatory and operational requirements
Support the operational and client services functions
We expect new joiners to start as a Technology Associate in July 2027. Upon joining, Associates participate in Base Camp. This orientation program is designed to equip you with new skills and foundational knowledge of our clients, industry, firm, and culture while developing a strong internal network. We look for:
Undergraduate students graduating with a bachelor's degree between Fall 2026 and Summer 2027
Interest in technology and the investment management industry
Strong academic achievement
Leadership experience through community service, extracurricular activities, work experience, athletics, or student organizations
For candidates pursuing the Software Engineer role, strong internship experience or coursework in software engineering is required, including exposure to design patterns, programming languages, and core software constructs
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Intellectual curiosity, initiative, and a strong work ethic
Aptitude for solving complex technical or functional problems
Curious and adaptable, with experience in exploring and applying emerging technologies and AI tools to solve problems, improve how work gets done and support better decision making

The base salary range for this position is:
