Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to the manufacturing line.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and process issues as needed.
  • Service, maintain, and repair equipment according to specifications.
  • Program and maintain PLC/HMI systems to enhance production.
  • Troubleshoot robotic handlers and welding cells effectively.
  • Prepare and update electrical drawings and schematics as necessary.
  • Interface with suppliers for technical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, including Ontario Hydro Electrical Code.
  • Document maintenance activities using Fiix software and manage work order history.
  • Assist with mechanical repairs and perform preventative maintenance inspections.

Group Summary:

Job Responsibilities:

Immediate, Open Position

Salary Range: $35.91-$47.71/per hour

Duties and Responsibility:

  • Direct manufacturing line support.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process problems to complete quality improvements as required.
  • Service, maintain, repair, install, and test equipment in accordance to current machine specifications.
  • PLC/HMI programming and maintenance to support production.
  • Reteach and troubleshoot robotic material handlers and weld cells.
  • Ability to create and modify electrical drawings, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams and schematics when required.
  • Procure spare components and provide justification for ordered spares.
  • Interface with suppliers and contractors on a technical level when required for the purpose of troubleshooting and debug.
  • Ensure safety by working in accordance with the Ontario Hydro Electrical Code and CSA-Z432 safety standard.
  • Use Fiix to document and track maintenance activities for all equipment's
  • Use Fiix Daily to manage WO History, track progress and repairs.
  • Assist with mechanical repairs as needed.
  • Perform PM inspections as required.
  • Follow Maintenance Manager and Team Leaders direction and task prioritization.
  • Other duties as assigned by a Maintenance TL, Supervisor or Manager
  • Must adhere to all MAFACT requirements.
  • Must comply with all ISO 14001 (Environmental) and ISO 45001(Health and Safety) systems and standards as it pertains to their work.
  • Adhere to the IATF16949 Standard as required
  • Abide by all AODA and C-TPAT, and TISAX procedures that apply to their position.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic Technician or similar Engineering degree/diploma/certificate or Trades Qualification and significant equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge in the following software packages: Allen Bradley RSLogix 500,5000, Factory Talk View Studio, Allen Bradley Panel Builder32, Omron CX-Programmer, Omron NT-series Support Tool is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in the following:  PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting, Robot programming and troubleshooting is an asset.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills is an asset.
  • Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot industrial networks (DeviceNet, EthernetIP) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot machine safety circuits and applications (ABB Jokab) is an asset.
  • Understanding of VFD, DC and Servo Drive systems is an asset.
  • Familiar with Vision Systems (Keyence, Cognex, Omron) is an asset.
  • Previous experience and exposure to robotics (ABB, Motoman) is an asset.
  • Understanding of Data Tracking and the use of Barcode Scanners or RFID is an asset.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents, schematic design specification and update drawings as required is an asset.
  • Demonstrates Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of welding and welding processes is an asset.
  • Wiring and panel building experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrates ability to be Receptive to feedback, willing to learn and embrace continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates Willingness to build strong working relationships and contribute to a positive work environment.
