Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generation equipment
  • Commission multiple canopy and containerized generators
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures both at the shop and customer locations
  • Set up and operate equipment solo or with other technicians
  • Work locally in the field with travel in a company vehicle
  • Possibly work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Engage with customer requirements for equipment services

Full Job Description
Bring your energy to Aggreko as Power Technician 1 based in Toronto, ON.

What you'll do:
  • You'll be based out of our Toronto, ON service center and can expect to work in the field with local travel daily in your company vehicle
  • You'll have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends, and there is a potential for travel
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, and electrical distribution equipment
  • Commissioning of multiple canopy generators, single containerized generator
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop and on customer locations, and handle the repairs
  • You will either be out on your own or teamed up with another technician(s) to set up and operate equipment at the shop and on customer sites


You are:
  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience working on Cummins diesel power/natural gas generators, mechanics or electricians and/or commercial, performing inspections, maintenance, and repair
  • Journeyman HET (off-Road) or Journeyman Electrician
  • Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics
  • Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
  • Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license
