As the
Technical Writer Manager for a global organization, you will be responsible for leading a team of technical writers, overseeing the entire documentation lifecycle, and ensuring that complex technical information is translated into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation. This role balances people management (hiring, mentoring, performance management) with strategic planning, tool management, and cross-functional and cross-organizational collaboration.

As a Technical Writer Manager, you will: - Collaborate with the global technical documentation organization in ensuring compliance with standards and driving quality measures.
- Within the framework of global team coordination within technical documentation, support innovative, efficiency-enhancing measures using AI and other efficiency-boosting measures in coordination with the editorial teams at other locations
- Recruit, interview, and train new technical writers in the field of building technology.
- Set goals, provide feedback, conduct reviews, and guide career growth.
- Direct workload strategy by overseeing resource allocation and dynamically aligning team priorities to business objectives, ensuring balanced capacity and effective delivery
- Define, implement, and continuously optimize workflows aligned with product and engineering practices (e.g., Agile, Git, Markdown), while enhancing the editorial work environment in collaboration with global team
- Coach writers in writing style, technical accuracy, and editorial feedback.
- Serve as central point of coordination for documentation across projects, aligning deliverables to business and market priorities and ensuring execution of critical initiatives
- Develop and implement new documentation and information concepts for the creation and maintenance of our documents.
- Champion user-needs and drive the team to design and implement documentation projects based on standards, style guides, and best practices to ensure the highest quality and consistency.
You will make an impact with these qualifications: Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years in technical writing, including 1-3+ years in a leadership capacity
- Degree in Engineering, Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience leveraging CMS/CDP platforms and AI-driven technologies, with demonstrated ability to mentor and scale technical writing teams
- Must be able to demonstrate:
- Proficiency in documentation tools (Markdown, Git, CMS platforms) and strong understanding of software development lifecycles
- Writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a focus on clarity, quality, usability, and user-centered design
- Interpersonal, coaching, and project management abilities, with a proven track record of collaborating effectively with Engineering, Product, Support, and Marketing to deliver accurate, user-focused documentation; able to communicate clearly across varying levels of technical expertise with a goal-oriented mindset

The pay range for this position is $92,320 - $158,263 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
