What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will translate complex energy systems, engineering processes, and regulatory requirements into clear, accurate documentation for a variety of audiences- from technical specialists to community members. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented communicator eager to build a career at the intersection of energy, science and technical writing.

Responsibilities
  • Research, draft, and edit technical documents including operations manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and equipment specifications.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and subject-matter experts to gather information and ensure technical accuracy.
  • Organize and maintain a document library, managing version control and publication schedules.
  • Support regulatory and compliance documentation efforts, including environmental reports and permitting materials.
  • Create and update training materials, quick-reference guides, and internal process documentation.
  • Assist with proposals and RFP responses by writing and formatting clear technical narratives.
  • Ensure all documentation meets company standards for style, format, and readability.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, STEM, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to quickly learn technical concepts related to energy infrastructure, generation, or distribution.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Internship or coursework experience in a technical or engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Notion).
  • Exposure to the energy, maritime, utilities, or renewables sector.
  • Experience with XML, HTML, or structured authoring tools (e.g., MadCap Flare, FrameMaker) is a plus.
