Full Job Description
Position Title: Technical Support Specialist

Location: Peachtree Corners, GA or Harleysville, PA or Rolling Meadows, IL (Hybrid)

Siemens Technical Support is searching for a qualified candidate that will possess an electrical or electronics background. This includes experience with industrial controls including soft starters, contactors, starters, safety relays and similar products to assist customers, via phone and/or email with wiring, commissioning and troubleshooting of Siemens products in the field.

You will make an impact with the following responsibilities:
  • Daily use of a Customer Relations Management software tool (Siebel ASSIST) in which customer questions are placed in a queue on a first-in, first out basis, requiring no more than 2 hr. email or callback time.
  • The ability to understand questions posed by parties in the electrical controls and power distribution industry including contractors, integrators, electricians, control and power distribution distributors and internal Siemens Business Developers and Sales Engineers among others.
  • Candidate will need to be able to multitask and be able to switch between the support of different products throughout the course of the day in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidate will interpret operations and maintenance manuals and provide wiring, commissioning, and troubleshooting support to customers by phone or email.
  • Job requires attention to detail and the ability to follow and interpret verbal communication as well as summarize these conversations in written form within an activity in ASSIST.
  • Performance will be based on Customer Survey scores sent out after each case is closed, knowledge sharing and learning, team performance and interaction, as well as meeting immediate team and organizational goals.
  • Candidate is required to work on a hybrid schedule, a minimum of one day in the office.
  • Some after-hour work may be required.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience in industrial electrical controls field or a graduate with an electrician certificate or electrical/electronics degree.
  • Proficiency and familiarity with soft starters, elevator starters, overload relays, contactors, circuit breakers, switches and communication protocols such as Profinet, Ethernet IP and Modbus.
  • 1 plus years of experience in Customer Support in the related fields: industrial, construction, mechanical, or electrical industries.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge in communication protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, and Ethernet IP.
  • Experience providing detailed information over the phone in a prior technical support role with the ability to provide a moderate level of technical phone support to both internal and external customers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The pay range for this position is $61,547 - $105,509. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
