The Role We're looking for a rare hybrid: a deeply technical automation expert who is equally at home in a mechanical room and a design meeting. As Senior Smart Building Solutions Engineer for our VIP Partner Program, you'll be the dedicated technical and strategic resource for our highest-performing integrators - and the trusted advisor for the architects, designers, and builders they work with.
This is not a tier-1 support role. You'll be engineering solutions for complex, high-stakes projects: multi-unit residential developments, luxury estates, commercial buildings, and specialty applications where standard playbooks don't apply.
Your tasks:- Own the technical relationship with a portfolio of top-tier Loxone integration partners - from project design review through commissioning and post-launch optimization
- Architect solutions for complex projects: system topology, Tree/Air/Link infrastructure, panel design, third-party integrations (Modbus, DALI, BACNET, API-based systems), and energy management
- Consult with architects, designers, and developers early in the project lifecycle, translating design intent into automation architecture and helping specify Loxone into plans
- Troubleshoot at the expert level - the escalations that land on your desk are the ones nobody else can solve
- Grow VIP partner business by identifying project opportunities, supporting bids and proposals, and helping partners expand into new verticals
- Feed the product loop - channel real-world partner and project insights back to product management and HQ
Our requirements:- 3+ years hands-on experience in smart home / building automation, systems integration, or a related controls discipline
- Deep fluency in at least several of: low-voltage system design, lighting control (0-10V, DALI, DMX), HVAC integration, structured wiring, IP networking, and automation protocols (Modbus, BACnet, MQTT, REST APIs)
- Proven ability to read electrical plans, design panel layouts, and specify hardware for real-world constraints
- Exceptional communication skills - you can explain a bus topology to an electrician and a user experience to an interior designer in the same afternoon
- A consultative, relationship-first mindset: our VIP partners should see you as an extension of their own team
- Willingness to travel to partner sites and flagship projects
- Bonus points: Loxone certification or hands-on Loxone Config experience; experience with Control4, Crestron, Lutron, KNX, or Savant ecosystems; Spanish language skills; CEDIA or industry certifications; electrical or engineering background
What We Offer- Salary Range: 90k-110k plus commission
- Health, dental, and vision coverage
- 401k, PTO, and Employee Discounts
- Comprehensive paid training and certification at Loxone headquarters
- A tight-knit, engineering-driven culture where technical excellence is the norm
