The OpportunityWe are looking for a Technical Services Representative who serves as the primary technical liaison between Atlantic and its customers and internal operations. The role is responsible for supporting product performance, consulting on resolving quality and converting issues, strengthening customer relationships through regular visits, and ensuring specifications and process align with manufacturing capabilities.
What you'll do- Conduct regular customer visits to review performance, address concerns and strengthen working relationships
- Documents all customer visits in a Technical Service Report, with a copy distributed to the Salesperson, Operations, Quality to support issue resolution
- Provide on-site technical support during trials, start-ups, and problem resolution activities
- Audits customer process, carton quality and carton design
- Coordinates design improvements with sales, Design depts and operations
- Support customer transitions to automated and replacement equipment through needs assessment, equipment selection advice, trial coordination, and ensuring smooth start-up with optimized performance
- Troubleshoot technical problems related to equipment
- Consult on corrective actions with Manufacturing, Quality, Design, and Sales teams
- Co-ordinates and follows through on accounts that transition to Atlantic from competitors
- Stays current on all industry/product developments by continuous learning
- Consult with Sales, Operations, Quality and Design to analyze, determine and report on the optimal method for manufacturing
- Work with Steel die supplier on best practices and set standard requirements for Atlantic manufacturing
- Act as an ambassador for Atlantic and assist with promoting future sales to existing clients
- Provide input into product design where goods or services must be tailored to suit clients' needs
- Initiates and takes part in cost savings projects for customers as requested or required
- Coach employees on best practices for challenging operational requirements
- May supervise the activities of other technical sales specialists
- Works on special projects as assigned
What You Bring- Experience in the corrugated packaging industry (sheet plant or integrated operations required)
- Strong knowledge of corrugating, converting processes, and packaging performance requirements
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer-relationship skills
- Ability to read technical drawings, specifications, and test data
- Proficiency in reporting systems and standard business software
