Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Technical Account Representative to join our dynamic team.

Position Summary: This position is responsible for contacting and calling on all existing and potential customersin the representative27s assigned geographical territory and performing related assignments for the purpose of sellingand servicing our products and services.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage time effectively to assure that all potential customers and all buying accounts are called onwith appropriate efficiency, including site visits at least quarterly with top 25% or account base.

  • Achieve a high level of sales efficiencies by continually identifying and exploiting profitable salesopportunities

  • Optimize sales results by establishing prioritization of the customer base and building relationshipsthat position us to receive the customer27s first call when they are sourcing raw materials. Thisincludes being focused on accounts that will provide the greatest growth and disengaging from salesand services which do not fit the company27s focus or profitability objectives

  • Achieve and maintain a high level of responsiveness and follow-up to customer needs

  • Develop and maintain a high level of product knowledge by attending supplier and internal producttraining sessions, joint travel with principals and researching products by reviewing internal andexternal product information.

  • Achieve a level of sales and product expertise to gain the ability to solve problems for the customerbase, thereby increasing value to the customer

  • Establish relationships throughout the customers in the territory to ensure that we are optimizing ourknowledge of their needs and their decision making process.

  • Provide written reports of the highlights of all sales calls via Supplier Highlight Reports withemphasis on significant information as it relates to new or lost business, pricing changes, usagerates, and strategies by competition

  • Participate with Vice President of Sales in developing goals and short-term targets to increase salesvolume with each customer and in developing and implementing sales strategies to accomplish themprofitably

  • Prospect, establish, document, pursue and close new business opportunities.

  • Schedule and make joint sales calls with supplier company personnel on key customers. Objective tointroduce new products and discuss existing products resulting in increased sales

  • Consistently monitor and follow up on sales leads from associates, trade publications, verbal and allother referral sources relative to new sales potential

  • As requested, recommend pricing levels at accounts and document new price requests. Notifyaccounts of impactful price changes and when needed negotiate with them to secure and gain marketshare.

  • Manage the administrative functions and responsibilities of job to comply with all company practices,policies, and procedures. This includes submitting variance reports, mileage reports, expense reportsand updates to Monthly Highlights on time.

  • Support the company27s goals to improve customer satisfaction, reduce rework, and improveprofitability

  • Establish, develop and sustain effective relationships with associates within the company

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor27s degree (chemistry preferred) from an accredited four-year college/university

  • 5 or more years field sales experience

  • Industry experience preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member

  • High moral and business ethics orientation
