ABOUT THE TECHNICAL SALES POSITION

Technical Sales role will be responsible for the sales strategy for Astec. This position will work across operating regions and collaborate with all functional areas to promote our products through a multi-channel network. Visit job sites to validate product performance and provide technical content in applications. Collaborate with operating regions to better understand customer, market, and product potential.

Key Deliverables of Technical Sales
  • Provide support to customers and resolves problems with installed equipment
  • Establish rapport with potential and actual customers and others in a position to understand services requirements
  • Prepare cost estimates by studying all customer related documents
  • Collect, analyze and summarize sale information and engineering and application trends
  • Determine improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies or service applications


Key Activities & Responsibilities of this Technical Sales Role
  • Identify, develop and own technical sales strategy
  • Work with all functional areas to successfully achieve strategic and growth sales initiatives
  • Assist with organizing MS product application success stories
  • Stay up to date on market place and provide competitive analysis
  • Assist with establishing and developing technical sales tools
  • Regional product accountability to include minimum stocking levels for market potential
  • Support Astec Industries' core values, mission statement and vision statement

  • Ability to lead strategy execution
  • Ability to influence and drive change required to achieve goals
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as with cross-functional teams

  • Strong sales understanding with products or similar experience, as well as market channels for Astec Industries' business
  • Ability to travel overnight and work long hours is required. May have to travel up to 40% of the time.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals is required
  • A minimum of five years of career experience in product sales or related industry
  • College degree in relevant field preferred but not required, experience will be considered
