Join our Team as a Technical Publications Assistant Manager!

The Role:

We are seeking a collaborative and motivated Technical Publications Assistant Manager to lead the people, projects, and processes behind the development and delivery of high-quality technical documentation. In this role, you will guide a team of technical writers and graphic design professionals while managing publication planning, documentation development, review and approval workflows supporting both Raymond and Toyota Material Handling brands. You will partner across engineering, product development, service, and other cross-functional teams to ensure technical content meets customer, quality, delivery, and compliance needs. You will also contribute to content strategy, component content management, documentation harmonization, and continuous improvement initiatives. What You'll Be Doing:
  • Lead, mentor, coach, and develop technical publications employees through regular 1:1s, goal setting, performance discussions, and development planning.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and publication plans supporting Raymond and Toyota new product development initiatives.
  • Coordinate technical documentation throughout the publication lifecycle, including planning, development, review, approval, and delivery.
  • Review and approve manuals, Service Information documents, and departmental standard work to ensure accuracy, consistency, quality, and publication readiness.
  • Partner with engineering, product development, service, and other stakeholders to deliver clear, accurate, and customer-focused technical content.
  • Coordinate Component Content Management System (CCMS) activities, including content structure, governance, translations, review processes, publishing workflows, and best practices.
  • Lead Technical Publications Lean Management activities focused on standardization, continuous improvement, defect reduction, and problem solving.
  • Support document delivery systems and coordinate documentation, graphics, review, and editing services across the organization.
  • Help establish departmental project plans, goals, objectives, and schedules aligned with organizational priorities and the Company's Strategic Plan.
  • Collaborate with Raymond and Toyota partners to advance innovation, harmonization, and continuous improvement across technical documentation.
  • Support effective utilization of departmental resources and budget while balancing quality, efficiency, and business needs.
  • Represent Technical Publications in cross-functional discussions with internal stakeholders, suppliers, service providers, and customers as needed.
  • Champion a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For:
  • 4+ years of professional and/or management experience.
  • Familiarity with CCMS, DITA methodologies, documentation lifecycle management, and technical publishing processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, or develop others and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional projects, schedules, and competing priorities.
  • Excellent listening, communication, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong business judgment with a flexible, dependable, and customer-focused approach.
  • Strong computer skills and experience working with publication, documentation, product lifecycle management, and content management systems.

What Sets You Apart:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in technical publications, documentation production, publication systems, component content management, or a related technical environment preferred.
  • Experience coordinating technical documentation within a manufacturing, engineering, industrial equipment, or technical product environment.
  • Previous people leadership, team lead, mentoring, or project leadership experience.
  • Lean or continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience with CCMS implementation, governance, content structure, or publishing workflows.
  • Experience collaborating across engineering, service, product development, and other technical functions.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, consistent, user-focused documentation.
  • A passion for developing others and creating an accountable, collaborative, and high-performing team environment.

  • Enjoy the best of both worlds with a hybrid schedule-collaborate in person at our Greene, NY office Monday through Wednesday and work remotely Thursday/Friday.
  • This position operates on a first shift schedule.

What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:

Salary - $94,000 - $120,000 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate's education and experience.
