Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to create and complete bids/estimations/quotations based on customer specification or customer requirements/budget in order to achieve both market competitiveness and the expected margin level for the Company. Each day, you will maintain and improve the balance between all ABB units and customers that are present in the area of responsibility. You will also showcase your expertise by formulating competitive bids, estimates, and quotations with the best product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations, ensuring timely, detailed proposals that include full and accurate costs.

This role is contributing to the ELDS Grid Components division in North America.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Review and evaluate project specifications and end-user customer requirements to provide electrical solutions including one-line electrical diagrams, schematic diagrams, lay-out & equipment drawings, equipment specifications and project budget pricing for Low and medium voltage applications.
- Understands protection and control relays and digital solutions across medium-voltage opportunities through application engineering and opportunity development in collaboration with the local sales team .
- Formulates competitive bids, estimates, and quotations by considering the best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial aspects for each situation.
- Creates well-documented tenders in a timely manner and with an appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs.
- Manages the preparation of technical, financial, and, if required, project management aspects of the bid, estimate, and quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions.
- Identifies potential risks in the bids, quotations, estimates, and related contract agreements across customers/channels.
- Provides information and/or participates in the risk review process in accordance with ABB policy.
- Responsible for collecting and collating the information required to prepare the proposal, including both technical and cost elements.
- Establishes and maintains effective customer relationships to gain a deep understanding of customer needs and ensures a positive customer experience throughout the sales process.
- Provides technical support to Sales Managers during technical meetings with customers.
Qualifications for the role - Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineer.
- 3 plus years of experience in Electrical Industry.
- Knowledge or experience with SEL Relays and other Digital Relay Protection systems is required.
- Knowledge in medium voltage equipment such as breakers, current transformers, relays etc.
- Previous proposal generation or requisition engineering activities preferred.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficient with proposal development tools including, but not limited to: SFDC, Empower, Word/Excel, PDF.
- Good communication, negotiation, autonomous, dynamic; conflict resolution.
- Possess a strong blend of power systems design and communication skills. Must be able to communicate complex concepts to a wide audience base to include engineers, account managers, contractors and channel partners.
- Must be self-motivated to learn all ABB products/solutions and their associated value propositions in EL.
- Self-starter - accountable for results and able to work without detailed direction.
- Candidate must already have worked authorization to work in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $83,300 and $133,280 annually.
