Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Oversee the preparation, readiness, and execution of test activities supporting the components (e.g., valves, regulators, actuators) on New Glenn's 9x4 variant from development through qualification phases.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, risk registers, and resource plans while proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks to scope, cost, and schedule.
- Contribute to team process/tool development including creating, measuring, and maintaining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), with an emphasis on but not limited to eliminating waste (time, resources, money), throughput, and quality. Create training material and conduct trainings on new tools/processes.
- Identify cost savings opportunities across the team, develop and plan cost reduction initiatives, and lead implementation and tracking of solutions to ensure measurable financial impact.
- Support procurement activities including consolidating team needs, drafting PRs, monitoring activities, and distributing goods to the team.
- Support development and management of Statements of Work (SOWs) with test facilities outside of Blue Origin and project manage these outsourced tests with support from test engineering, procurement, and design engineering as needed.
- Identify, consolidate, and track test demand in JIRA to support team planning and resource allocation.
- Utilize software tools to mine enterprise data pools for demand planning and work tracking data/trends.
- Work with test engineering teams to track and support work execution, providing weekly status reports for major program milestones such as launches or vehicle builds.
- Support occasional development of new facilities or facility upgrades: identify high level requirements, capture demand, work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop high level test facility architecture, create formal proposals, and drive implementation forward if/when approved.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Responsible Engineers (REs), Manufacturing Engineers (MEs), suppliers, test facility personnel, internal partners, and their respective leaders to support timely and successful completion of testing.
- Communicate effectively with Directors and Senior Project Managers across the organization on technical and planning topics.
- Maintain team Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), templates, and command media in Confluence, SharePoint, and Windchill.
- Champion a safety-first mindset while promoting process improvements in quality, schedule adherence, and team performance.
Minimum Qualifications:- B.S. in engineering field; aerospace, mechanical, or systems engineering preferred.
- 5+ years managing complex, multi-disciplinary, fast-paced projects.
- 5+ years as a test engineer in aerospace or comparable industry.
- Fundamental knowledge of aerospace fluid systems and test methods, including fluid components such as valves, regulators, actuators, servo-valves, flexible elements, and fittings, as well as test specific instrumentation.
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Project (or similar), and Microsoft SharePoint.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, review, and present large data sets.
- Ability to manage multiple internal customers and build/maintain strong working relationships across a dynamic organization.
- Excellent technical communication skills and a strong analytical and organizational disposition.
- Experience as a self-starter with ambiguous or vague project scope and an ability to identify key needs, address them, and reassess and adjust as required.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Ability to travel within U.S. occasionally, up to 15% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:- MBA or M.S. in engineering or related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certified.
- Experience working with MIL-STD 810, SMC-S-016, RTCA-DO-160, or equivalent environmental testing standards.
- Advanced knowledge of aerospace fluid systems and test methods.
- Experience with Primavera P6, SQL, Databricks, and Windchill.
Base Pay Range for:
WA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20
