ABOUT THE ROLEWe are seeking a
Technical Project Manager to join our team supporting the
Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Richland, WA.
Responsibilities- Supports and manages discrete technical construction scope, ensuring timely completion of all project elements.
- Oversees technical requirements.
- Defines and manages project deliverables, budgets, schedules, and risks; and supports, while at times leading, the project team in planning, tracking, and executing the scope from initiation through turnover.
- Manages project activities in alignment with Triad's prime contract, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), and Department of Energy (DOE) 413.3B requirements.
- Organizes work into controlled accounts and corresponding work packages that define tasks necessary to meet programmatic objectives.
- Reports to the Manager of Projects (MOP) and is responsible for the daytoday administrative and operational management of an assigned project/program area. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and evaluating policies, procedures, and standards related to construction and work execution within a nuclear facility.
- Supports development and monitoring of program budgets and provides technical guidance to project teams, support departments, and matrixed resources.
Requirements- Education & Years of Experience - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 5+ years of relevant experience; additional, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Citizenship - To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
- Clearance - To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
- Prior nuclear facility and/or laboratory experience is required along with an emphasis on recent and relevant experience with security/classification protocols in a Department of Energy (DOE) and/or National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) setting where active D&D, construction, testing, and turnover was being performed under Nuclear Quality Assurance-1 (NQA-1) requirements.
Desired Skills- Preferred qualifications include prior construction experience, particularly supporting work in a nuclear facility.
- Candidates must have extensive experience working compliantly within strict nuclear security and classification environments.
- Work planning and controls experience.
- Effective coordination and communication between representatives of construction, operations, and support organizations such as radiological control, criticality/nuclear/ occupational safety.
About the SiteThe NNSA's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, is a design laboratory responsible for the safety and reliability of the nuclear explosives package in nuclear weapons. This lab possesses unique capabilities in neutron scattering, enhanced surveillance, radiography, and plutonium science and engineering (energy.gov).
