Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in electrical safety, design for excellence, risk management, risk assessments, electrical infrastructure systems, and partner management.

Preferred qualifications:
  • 6 years of experience in occupational health and safety, or relevant engineering fields.
  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in electrical safety or designing/constructing buildings, industrial systems, or infrastructure products.
  • Experience evaluating safety in engineering, design solutions, and implementing systems to manage risk.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

This Design for Safety role will be responsible for ensuring our innovative data center products and designs prioritize and ensure the well-being and safety of the individuals interacting with these products throughout the entire lifecycle of our technical infrastructure from design, construction, operation, and eventual dismantling. This role will provide leadership and EHS direction in the safe design of new infrastructure products and data center building designs. This proactive upstream effort aims to mitigate risk downstream to our employees, partners, and the environment across the data center lifecycle. This role will engage with all levels of employees and leadership to continuously improve existing Design for Safety Standards and Processes. This role will work with key stakeholders in engineering, project management, construction, operations and EHS as well as external partners to continuously evaluate program risks and opportunities, and develop work plans to execute on agreed objectives.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $138000 - $198000 (USD) 15% bonus target equity benefits

Responsibilities
  • Provide design and industrial safety subject matter expertise for new infrastructure product and data center building designs.
  • Lead and perform detailed design EHS risk assessment process for new infrastructure products and data center building designs, taking into consideration the entire lifecycle of technical infrastructure.
  • Lead cross-functional collaborative efforts to address identified EHS risks at both the site, regional, and global program levels.
  • Engage a cross-functional stakeholder group to ensure integration and compliance with relevant EHS regulatory standards and EHS owner program requirements.
  • Design for Safety Technical Standards and processes.
