Technical Marketing ISV Lead and Performance Engineer
Description -HP Workstations is seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer to join the Workstations Technical Marketing team. This role sits at the core of HP's high-performance, AI-enabling workstation portfolio, working with the industry's largest technology partners and leading Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to deliver differentiated, real-world performance for the most demanding professional workflowss.
The Technical Marketing ISV Lead & Performance Engineer is an Expert-level technical individual contributor who provides deep systems and performance expertise across ISV engagement, workstation performance engineering, and technical workflow storytelling. This role leads the translation of complex performance analysis, certifications, and system behavior into trusted, repeatable, and customer-ready proof points that directly influence go-to-market strategy, sales enablement, and customer confidence. The position operates with significant autonomy, driving technical direction within its domain and influencing cross-functional teams through expertise rather than authority.
Key ResponsibilitiesISV Engagement & Certification- Lead and own technical relationships with a portfolio of strategic and priority ISVs, providing expert guidance across onboarding, certification, enablement, and ongoing technical engagement.
- Execute and manage ISV certification workflows, ensuring accuracy across internal databases and customer-facing tools.
- Serve as a primary technical authority and escalation point between ISVs, Product Management, Engineering, and Go-to-Market teams, shaping requirements, priorities, and technical solutions.
Performance Engineering & Systems Analysis- Monitor, test, and analyze application and system performance across CPU, GPU, memory, storage, power, and thermals.
- Execute standardized benchmark tests using established methodologies aligned to real customer workflows
- Validate and document performance results ensuring reproducibility and data integrity.
- Apply system-level judgment to interpret results, trends, and tradeoffs, providing clear recommendations and technical guidance to stakeholders.
Technical Marketing & Documentation- Translate performance findings into technically credible workflow narratives, proof points, and recommendations that clearly articulate differentiation and "why HP wins."
- Lead or heavily influence technical demos, demo frameworks, and validated activities, ensuring alignment between measured performance and external messaging.
- Represent HP as a technical subject-matter expert at launches, events, trainings, customer briefings, and partner engagements.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration- Act as a technical leader across hardware, software, systems, and GTM teams, influencing decisions through depth of expertise and data-driven insights.
- Lead complex technical workstreams or initiatives within the Technical Marketing organization, coordinating across teams and disciplines.
- Communicate technical risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Impact & Scope- Impacts multiple organizations and business outcomes through trusted performance data, ISV certifications, and workflow expertise.
- Owns complex and ambiguous technical problem spaces requiring advanced judgment and cross-domain knowledge.
- Operates with substantial autonomy within established architectural and organizational frameworks.
- Leads technical direction within domain areas but does not define company-wide architecture or strategy.
Knowledge & Skills- Systems engineering and workstation performance analysis.
- Advanced understanding of CPU, GPU, memory, storage, OS, drivers, and application interactions.
- Understanding of benchmarking methodologies, performance validation, and data integrity.
- Proven ability to create high-quality technical documentation and influence others through clear communication.
- Automation or scripting experience (Linux, Python, shell, or equivalent).
Education & Experience- Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Typically 7-10 years of experience in systems engineering, performance engineering, technical marketing, or ISV-facing roles.
- Demonstrated track record of technical leadership, independent judgement, and cross-functional influence.

Compensation and BenefitsThe pay range for this role is
$130,700.00 - $192,800.00 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
