Job Description: 

Summary

The Technical Learning Designer & Facilitator plays a critical role in advancing EverTrue’s learning strategy by designing, developing, and facilitating high‑quality learning solutions that support employee onboarding, system adoption, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness. This role blends technical instructional design expertise with engaging facilitation, ensuring learning experiences are practical, scalable, and aligned to EverTrue’s mission, values, and operational needs.

Working closely with the Director of Organizational Development and cross‑functional partners, this role translates complex systems, processes, and competencies into clear, accessible learning experiences that support team member success across EverTrue.

Responsibilities

Instructional Design & Content Development

1. Designs, develops, and maintains engaging learning experiences across modalities including instructor‑led training, virtual sessions, microlearning, job aids, and on‑demand resources

2. Translates technical, system, and process‑based content (e.g., Workday, UKG, Relias, operational workflows) into learner‑centered experiences that support performance and adoption

3. Applies adult learning principles, instructional design best practices, and evaluation methods to ensure learning effectiveness and retention while partnering with subject matter experts to assess learning needs and ensure content accuracy, relevance, and consistency

Facilitation & Delivery

4. Facilitates engaging in‑person and virtual training sessions for employees, leaders, and managers across EverTrue

5. Leads onboarding, system training, and organizational development workshops aligned with EverTrue’s learning strategy

6. Adapts facilitation approach to diverse audiences, learning styles, and operational contexts while maintaining consistency of message and experience

Learning Strategy & Continuous Improvement

7. Supports the creation and ongoing development of EverTrue’s learning plans, onboarding paths, and role‑based learning plans

8. Evaluates learning effectiveness through feedback, participation data, and outcome measures; recommends improvements as needed

9. Ensures learning content aligns with EverTrue’s job architecture, competencies, and career progression framework

Collaboration & Organizational Partnership

10. Collaborates with HR, IT, Operations, Finance, and community leaders to support organizational initiatives and system rollouts

11. Serves as a technical learning resource and consultant for departments seeking scalable and sustainable training solutions

12. Supports a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and professional development across EverTrue

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Education, Human Resources, or a related field required

  • Master’s degree preferred

  • 4+ years of experience in instructional design, technical training, organizational development, or learning facilitation

  • Experience designing and delivering training in complex, multi‑site organizations preferred

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, and facilitation best practices

  • Experience translating technical or system‑based content into clear, learner‑friendly training

  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and presentation skills

  • Ability to independently plan and execute complex learning projects while collaborating with cross‑functional partners

  • Proficiency with learning management systems and common productivity tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Travel to EverTrue communities and ministry support locations is required, including periodic overnight travel, and may involve transporting learning materials or equipment. Work is primarily performed in a well‑lighted, climate‑controlled office, classroom, or community environment. About Lutheran Senior Services

California Lutheran University is a private liberal arts university in Thousand Oaks, California. It was founded in 1959 and is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, but is nonsectarian. It opened in 1960 as California Lutheran College and was California's first four-year liberal arts college and the first four-year private college in Ventura County. It changed its name to California Lutheran University on January 1, 1986. It is located on a 290-acre campus, 40 miles northwest of Los Angeles. It offers degrees at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels, as well as post-master's and post-bachelor's certificates. CLU offers 36 majors and 34 minors. The university is based in Thousand Oaks, with additional locations in Woodland Hills, Westlake Village, Oxnard, Santa Maria, and Berkeley. Notable speakers at CLU have included U.S. presidents Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford, and George H. W. Bush.
