What is the opportunity?

As Team Lead in our Fixed Income team, you will serve as a figurehead driving operational efficiency and risk reduction across our daily operations. You'll ensure all assigned transactions are settled and processed in a timely and accurate manner while helping lead a team toward established departmental goals. In addition to your operational responsibilities, you'll support senior management with strategic projects and contribute to the professional development of your team members.
  • Help reduce operational risk and drive efficiency in our day-to-day operations as a figurehead of our team
  • To settle or process all transactions assigned on a daily basis in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist in leading a team of Analysts to meet established departmental goals, and to assist senior management with projects and team development.


What will you do?
  • Works in a team environment, fostering a learning culture
  • Possesses an in depth knowledge of the products and services within the department and act as the primary referral point for employees
  • Provide specific assistance and feedback to fellow employees, positive or constructive, for development purposes
  • Aid in managing volumes and organizing workflow of the team
  • Remain up to date on a number of desks so as to be able to back fill throughout the year
  • Be able to work independently on assigned role/task on the team
  • Possess good knowledge of the various products and systems required to accomplish daily responsibilities
  • Ensures adherence to policies, procedures, standards and guidelines and ensures processes and controls are in place to minimize operations risk


AUTHORITIES, IMPACT, RISK:
  • Discretionary decision making on settlement location all other details are provided from FO
  • Disclose to relevant parties trade details, confirmations and location of settlement
  • Advise relevant parties to any discrepancies found regarding their trades or reconciliations Associate Director, Manager,
  • Other TLs , department staff ensuring day to day tasks are complete and ad hoc issues
  • Clients Capital Markets, Correspondent Services, IAO, GAT supporting needs, to make sure trades are pre-matched, avoid any issues on SD
  • Other Financial Institutions and/or Brokers ensuring trades are pre-matched and to avoid issues prior to SD
  • Third-Party Service Providers ensuring our systems are working to perform day to day tasks On an ongoing basis will assist Manager Fed Income Purchase and Sales with any ad hoc requirements / tasks


KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
  • Associate Director, Manager, Other TLs , department staff ensuring day to day tasks are complete and ad hoc issues
  • Clients Capital Markets, Correspondent Services, IAO, GAT supporting needs, to make sure trades are pre-matched, avoid any issues on SD
  • Other Financial Institutions and/or Brokers ensuring trades are pre-matched and to avoid issues prior to SD
  • Third-Party Service Providers ensuring our systems are working to perform day to day tasks


What you need to succeed?
  • Post-secondary or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of internal trading, accounting, and settlement systems including: Impact, BPS, BONY, FICC, E-Web etc
  • Strong knowledge of Fixed Income Products
  • Ability to work independently and to solve problems using knowledge and experience

  • Experience with Microsoft office products
  • Ability to create VBA/Macros an asset
