Qualifications

Required
  • 5-7+ years of experience in financial services, product management, strategy, analytics, risk management, consulting, technology delivery, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience querying and analyzing large data sets; ability to convert data to actionable business insights / business cases.
  • Experience developing executive reporting, dashboards, forecasts, and business performance metrics.
  • Ability to thrive in an evolving, ambiguous portfolio where processes and procedures may be less established than in Retail Banking, requiring sound judgment and independent problem solving.
  • Build relationships across business, risk, operations, technology, and frontline teams to gather information, align stakeholders, and deliver outcomes.
  • Understanding of customer acquisition, lending, credit adjudication, onboarding, or digital customer journeys.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive communication skills.


Preferred
  • Knowledge of SQL, SAS, Power BI, or other data querying and analytics tools is considered a strong asset, but not required.
  • Experience with commercial, small business, or retail banking products and customer acquisition funnels, and branch / digital onboarding experiences.
  • Experience working with credit adjudication, fraud management, AML, or underwriting processes.

This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, technology, analytics, risk management, fraud, operations, and marketing. The successful candidate will lead initiatives that optimize the end-to-end acquisition and onboarding experience for Small Business customers, from application initiation for Cards and Creditline through adjudication, approval, account opening, and activation. The role provides a unique opportunity to gain a holistic understanding of the entire customer acquisition funnel and influence how customers, frontline employees, and adjudication teams interact with BMO's digital and branch onboarding ecosystem.

A core component of the role is leveraging advanced analytics and data-driven decision making to identify opportunities, quantify impacts, develop business cases, and shape strategic investment decisions. The successful candidate will partner closely with Technology, Product, Risk, Fraud, Operations, Sales, and Marketing teams to define requirements, prioritize enhancements, and deliver improvements across strategic platforms including BBX and other critical onboarding systems.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Customer Acquisition
  • Develop and execute acquisition strategies that drive growth while balancing customer experience, operational efficiency, risk management, and profitability.
  • Analyze the end-to-end customer onboarding funnel to identify opportunities to improve conversion, reduce abandonment, and enhance customer experience.
  • Build business cases and strategic recommendations supported by quantitative analysis and customer insights.


Analytics & Reporting
  • Lead ongoing development and management of reporting, dashboards, forecasting cycles, and executive-level performance OKRs.
  • Ability to extract, analyze, and interpret large data sets to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities; produce actionable insights and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Design and maintain key business metrics to measure acquisition performance, customer outcomes, operational efficiency, fraud losses, credit performance, and revenue growth.
  • Partner with stakeholders to establish data-driven performance management practices.
  • Conduct funnel analysis, cohort analysis, and performance monitoring to support strategic decision-making.


Technology & Process Optimization
  • Define business requirements and lead technology initiatives supporting customer onboarding, adjudication, fulfillment, and servicing.
  • Partner with Technology teams to design, prioritize, test, and implement enhancements within BBX and related acquisition platforms.
  • Identify and eliminate customer, frontline, and operational friction points through process redesign and technology modernization.
  • Support strategic transformation initiatives, platform migrations, and digital capability development across the FY27 roadmap and longer-term planning horizon.
  • Translate complex business needs into scalable technology solutions.


Risk, Fraud & Compliance
  • Partner with Risk, Fraud, AML, and Compliance teams to balance growth objectives with appropriate controls and governance.
  • Analyze emerging fraud trends, policy impacts, and operational risks to inform strategic decisions.
  • Support development and monitoring of acquisition risk frameworks, controls, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure initiatives comply with legal, regulatory, and enterprise risk requirements.


Operational Support & Ad Hoc Business Priorities
  • Manage escalations and support issue resolution across stakeholders.
  • Maintain policies, procedures, document templates, and operational materials.
  • Support reporting, communications, and business management activities.
  • Lead or contribute to ad hoc initiatives, projects, and other business needs as required.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.


Salary:

$69,000.00 - $129,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
