About the Role

DAS42 is seeking a versatile Lead Data Consultant to design and deliver scalable data solutions, including data models, ELT/ETL pipelines, cloud data platforms, and BI tools. This role involves advising clients on maximizing the value of their data, translating business needs into technical strategies, guiding solution architecture, and supporting or leading project execution. The ideal candidate will be a strong individual contributor and an emerging leader, comfortable mentoring others and driving high-quality outcomes. This client-facing position requires excellent communication skills, technical expertise, and a consultative mindset.
What You'll Do
  • Guide clients on optimizing their data environment for maximum efficiency.
  • Develop system engineering, integrations, and architectures based on client needs.
  • Implement and advise on data warehouse solutions, ETL pipelines, and BI reporting tools.
  • Develop data models to capture client's KPIs and data transformations; validate and test data models.
  • Teach technical data modeling concepts to various audiences, including developers and IT professionals.
  • Manage technical teams of up to 4-6 people, delegating work across engagements.
  • Assign staff with appropriate skill sets to projects in conjunction with the project manager.
  • Work within a project management framework to meet objectives and understand the impact of your work.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to develop Thought Leadership and support sales efforts.
What We're Looking For
  • 5 to 8 years of work experience in data analytics or data engineering.
  • Minimum of 1 year leading projects, formally or informally.
  • Experience managing internal employees, ideally with formal direct reports.
  • A passion for exploring and solving different kinds of problems.
  • Exposure to developer tools/workflow (e.g., git/github, SSH) and command line environments.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Basecamp, JIRA, ASANA).
  • Experience with the AWS, Google Cloud ecosystem (BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Proficiency with business visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI).
  • Experience with data warehousing and using Snowflake.
  • Experience optimizing database/query performance.
  • Proficiency with Python and advanced SQL.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative or technical field (preferred).
  • Experience in consulting/services organizations (preferred).
  • Experience with Media & Entertainment or Telecom companies (preferred).
