Who are you?

As a Building Consultancy Team Lead, you will manage a team of building surveyors as well as provide advice in relation to complex technical due diligence instructions and other general building surveying advice.

This job is part of the Technical Due Diligence and Building Consultancy function. They are responsible for specialist building services including surveying, inspections, and capital planning.

Job Description
  • Lead in the successful implementation, delivery and management of professional building consultancy advice to a range of clients in relation to technical due diligence instructions and other general building surveying advice.
  • Analyze RFPs and client requirements, then lead the development and submission of compelling and compliant proposals.
  • Utilize internal systems to manage project documentation, track progress, and ensure alignment with established timelines and budgets.
  • Work closely with other T&T colleagues and departments to grow relationships and business opportunities.
  • Provide and guide teams to deliver client advice, with the correct mix of experience and skills.
  • Defect analysis and providing commercial advice to clients.
  • Review the department's business plan and drive the team to achieve its objectives.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles, techniques, and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with T&T values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • To positively contribute to the team and department business plan and to assist in achieving its objectives.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions
  • Comply with T&T's polices and management systems.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information to others in straightforward situations.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture preferred with 5-8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Professional Engineer or License Architect designation is an asset.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Previous experience in people leadership.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

The base salary range for this full-time role is $95,000 - $145,000 per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate's experience and qualifications.
